My wife and I are seniors, and rarely go out, preferring to stay at our home. When we do go out, we always wear an N95 mask, wipe our hands with antiseptic wipes, and keep our distance from others.
Last week I caught what seemed to be a cold - slight headache, itchy throat and runny nose and sneezing. Couldn't figure out how I could catch it. It passed in two days, and my wife didn't catch anything from me. I'm over 70, and it didn't slow me down from shoveling dirt and heavy lifting. Maybe it was the common cold, or maybe a covid variant? Still not going to take the vaccine shot.
You do realize the mask has zero protection from viruses.
