(CNN) — Days after Canada dropped its quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated Canadians entering the country, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rejected the idea that non-essential unvaccinated visitors will soon be allowed in. "I can tell you right now that's not going to happen for quite a while," Trudeau said during a campaign-style stop in British Columbia on Thursday. Trudeau did not say when vaccinated travelers would be permitted. The Canada-US border remains closed to non-essential travel until at least July 21 and only Canadian citizens and residents are currently allowed to enter the country, unless they are exempted in order to carry out essential work.

Please come to NH or Maine.
There are a lot of conservative business owners here in the Live Free or Die state that would appreciate your business.
Down east Maine is also very nice in August & September.
Nantucket Island, MA is where the more conservative types go too. The Wall street types vacation on Nantucket. The liberals vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. Block Island, RI is a smaller version of Nantucket.
I have no interest in going there, as long as trudeau is in charge.
Strangely I feel the same of the US as long as Biden is the frontman.
“...I have heard though once you get west of Quebec you are in solid “Red” country up to 20 miles from the Pacific Coast...”
As someone living in Ontario, I can tell you that is indeed true, as the problematic parts of Ontario are the urban areas of Ottawa, The Greater Toronto Area, and the Northern Tech Triangle (Guelph/Kitchener-Waterloo/Cambridge/London). Other than those areas, the vast majority of Ontario (at least by area) is quite conservative. Unfortunately, it is the urban parts of Canada that make it so that Princess Justine Castro can pretty much continue to be Prime Minister for just as long as it suits him. X.x
Last time I was in down east Maine the mosquitos nearly drained me!
My hope is to witness the tidal surge in the Bay of Fundy. Might fly into Bangor and rent a car instead of flying to St. John NB directly. October is the latest I would venture that far north, so maybe by then?
FYI, there is a shortage of rental cars around the country.
Also, you can not cross the border in a car either unless you are a commercial vehicle or similar.
Many people take the car ferry from Portland, ME. to St. Johns, NB instead of driving all the way around. It leaves at 9 pm from Portland. You arrive in NB the next morning. They have a casino on the ship too. It is pretty fun.
“Non-essential” people? Hmmmm... Wonder who is making those kinds of decisions.
Actionable intel! I'll have to consider that!
Love the Three Stooges!
Ride bikes through town as a yute, skied up there as well.
As an Alaskan, and having driven through western Canada many times, but not east of Manitoba, I can say you have heard right.
Canada has its flyover country too.
Misinformation…Canadians are being “locked in” by the son of Fidel Castro
Border reopening? Canada's prime minister gives fully vaccinated Americans mid-August target
Canada won't be getting any of our money again any time soon.
