It's time for Lisa Murkowski to join the Democrats
news.yahoo.com ^ | 7/12/21 | Joel Mathis

Murkowski's plight resembles that of the late Sen. Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvanian who served as a Republican for most of his 30 years in the U.S. Senate — but who flipped to the Democratic Party in 2009 when it became clear he was no longer conservative enough to win another GOP primary. "I know I'm disappointing many of my colleagues," Specter said at the time. "The disappointment runs in both directions." Murkowski probably feels the same way these days. The switch didn't work for Specter, though: He lost the Democratic primary the next year and left office — too left for the right, and too right for the left.

Oh, they would love for Lisa to be the new Jim Jeffords.

The problem with that is that Jim Jeffords was SAFELY REELECTED before his betrayal.

Her situation is indeed comparable to the odious Arlen Specter. And her fate would be exactly the same.

If she thinks she has even a chance to remain in the Senate, it will have to be as a republican. Otherwise, she's toast.

But she probably knows that she's toast anyway.

As an independent in a runoff lots of the dems voted for her, iirc.

She has that yeast infection look on her face. How these fakes persist in otherwise conservative states I’ll never know.

It’s my understanding the Never Trumpers are converging on a common strategy in many states.

It will focus on fracturing the vote among several people encouraged to run in the primary against the Never Trumper. Maybe even funded to run. This would fracture the vote that hates the disliked candidate and possibly get a nomination — hoping voters do not then vote Democrat to be rid of the filth.

The only defense I can see against this is Trump’s staff is going to have to investigate and make a choice during the nomination process and thereby instruct the others to drop out. If they refuse, the punishment will be to erase them from whatever current state legislative seat they hold.

With the new ‘Rank choice voting’ Lisa Musky will be nearly unbeatable.

Demonrats didn’t come up with that crap because it would be good for republicans!

It won't work. Trump voters are furious after the 2020 Steal and will vote en-masse for Kelly Tshibaka. The RINO-traitors can run as many candidates as they want.

Alaska’s voters fired her dad when they elected Sarah?

I don't think so. Trump took Alaska with 53% of the vote. If everyone who voted for Trump votes for Kelly Tshibaka, then she will safely get over the 50% margin.

She needs to get primaried, but she should not be pushed over the edge until then. A RINO’s 50% is still better than any Democrat’s 0%.

The Dems who want to see Harris as President need a “defector” before the midterms, expect to see more of these types of articles.

If Biden is removed by Harris in some sort of silent coup, or just an admission of reality to his declining cognitive state, Harris can ascend to the Presidency... But then both houses of Congress have to approve of a Vice President, and Harris is no longer the tiebreaking vote because she would no longer preside over the senate as vice president.

I don’t think the Dems believe it’s safe to believe both houses of Congress will stay in Democrat hands after the midterms, so they’d need a sure thing like a strategic defection in the senate. Very little surprises me any more, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Murkowski herself became Vice President in this scenario as a payoff for switching parties. Ugh, the media fawning over that scenario. I really hope it doesn’t come to pass.

Trump didn’t win anything with the NEW system, and votes for Trump have nothing to do with Lisa Musky.

The RATS will vote RAT and Lisa Musky 2nd choice.

The R’s will vote R and who 2nd choice? Musky? RAT?

The Ind’s will vote Ind and Musky.

Any way you look at it R senate candidate takes it up the rear with ‘rank choice voting’. That is EXACTLY why the RATS came up with it!

It’s time for Lisa to evaporate.

If someone would just stand her on her head, she’d actually be smiling all the time.

Ira Einhorn’s girlfriend’s remains were found decomposing in a steamer trunk in his closet. Arlen Specter chose to be his lawyer and defend him in court. That’s all anyone really needs to know about Arlen Specter.

***************************************************
In Alaska’s new ranked choice voting scheme, you can bet your boots that every Alaskan who votes for the DemocRAT as their first choice will have Murkowski as their second choice. Take that to the bank!

And most who vote for Murkowski as first choice will obey her campaign’s diktat to vote for the ‘RAT as their second choice. Thus will be real interesting.

That’s actually a really, really dumb place to go. No one wants unchecked government. That leads to tyranny. Even the most vile murderer has Constitutional rights and the government always has to make its case.

Defense counsel’s job is to make the government prove its case. Nothing more. It says nothing about how said counsel feels about the defendant.

If the government has the evidence, so be it. However, in an adversarial system, we NEED people who will make the government prove its case.

Do you really trust the current government?
