At a time when many schools are embroiled in controversy over the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT), voters still think it is important that kids learn traditional values in school.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 78% of Likely U.S. Voters say it’s at least somewhat important for schools to teach the traditional values of Western Civilization, including 52% who say it’s Very Important. This is virtually unchanged from four years ago, and in line with surveys dating back to 2013.

With so much support, can it long before torch and pitchfork time?

“Capitalism” vs Communism (and the horrors of totalitarianism)
But with the “end of of the Cold War (WWIII against the USSR) we stopped teaching Americans and ushered Communists into teach in the classrooms (see Howard Zinn’s peoples’ history of Amerika and California Democrats repealing the prohibition on Communists and seditionists teaching in schools or advocating those positions).
I quit listening to polls as of Nov 2020. The American people as a whole, aren’t familiar with the rule of law or constitution anymore. The definition of “traditional values” is highly subjective.
Also, our rulers don’t care what the polls say.
If they cared they would be at their local schools dragging these POS “educators” out of the buildings by the hair of their heads.
Even though character education has some influence on children, most kids learn values, such as honesty and respect, before they start kindergarten. Because they already know important values, many children and adolescents feel patronized when their teacher lectures them on such topics, according to Richard Weissbourd, child and family psychologist and faculty member at Harvard University.
Teaching values in public schools poses difficulties for school administrators and teachers because not all standards of behavior are the same. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and religious upbringings, and parents often have different values and expectations than those of the teacher or teachers in their child’s school. Conflicts arise when teachers’ views of right and wrong don’t line up with parents’ values. And by re-introducing values using the power of the pulpit to inexperienced children without the maturity to sort it out and determine its validity, it turns into a demagogue to eliminate the option of choice and becomes coercive persuasion rather than education. This borders on the edge of the failing ethics of education and becomes parenting. And it attempts to create an assembly line of robots rather than citizens. Something politics has been falling into over the last century at least.

I honestly dont want them teaching any values, I want them to teach reading, math, science, history, ect.
Some of the Democrats in this group would switch if they saw ads exposing the BAD values being taught. Why have Republicans — even Trump — been hesitating to do this?
I would settle for teaching something you can actually get a real job.
Working for a non-profit is NOT a real job.
To me, it took until the end of the Cold War for the Communists in the elite schools and their fellow travelers who took communism into the American school system to fully infiltrate it. And with the fall of the Soviet Union, American’s stopped seeing communism as a threat and thus the Communist Fifth Column was set to take over the country. And their infiltration and control of the Democrapt Party was completed.
