President Joe Biden on Friday fired Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul, according to the former commissioner, who said he won’t leave his post and will log into work on Monday morning because his term isn’t over.
Saul was one of the few remaining holdover officials who were appointed by former President Donald Trump. The White House confirmed to Fox News and other news outlets that it terminated Saul’s employment after he refused a request to resign.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Saul said he received an email from the White House Personnel Office on Friday morning about the decision. However, Saul added that he will not leave his post, challenging the legality of the Biden administration’s decision to remove him.
“This was the first I or my deputy knew this was coming,” Saul told the newspaper, referring to the email. “It was a bolt of lightning no one expected. And right now it’s left the agency in complete turmoil.”
Saul’s six-year-long term was slated to expire in January 2025.
“I consider myself the term-protected Commissioner of Social Security,” he said, calling his ouster a “Friday Night Massacre” and an “abuse” of power.
The White House also released a statement on the decision, alleging that Saul—a longtime GOP donor—”politicized” the Social Security Administration (SSA).
“Since taking office, Commissioner Saul has undermined and politicized Social Security disability benefits, terminated the agency’s telework policy that was utilized by up to 25 percent of the agency’s workforce, not repaired SSA’s relationships with relevant Federal employee unions including in the context of COVID-19 workplace safety planning, reduced due process protections for benefits appeals hearings, and taken other actions that run contrary to the mission of the agency and the President’s policy agenda,” the White House said in a statement to Fox News

Huh.
He must be honest.
“Huh.
He must be honest.”

He is… the government unions want him out. And he’s right, Social Security Administration is supposed to be an independent agency and its Commissioner is supposed to be a non-partisan position whose appointee is supposed to have the job for a fixed period of time. He doesn’t serve “at the pleasure of the President” and can’t be fired at any time the President wants.
Ha ha. Now we'll see a little demonstration of how Democrats deal with subversion against them from within the Government.
I wonder. Will it be... a quiet monetary arrangement, making Mr. Saul very wealthy?
Or might it be more like the discovery of something very nasty and illegal in his past?
Or perhaps... he's walking down the street one afternoon, and becomes the victim of a "robbery gone bad," with no witnesses, no video coverage and no physical evidence pointing to a perpetrator.
As much as I hate/have no use for Biden, he is recognized as president for now. If a president does not want you working with his administration, it seems he should be able to weed you out. This guy may be better off just leaving now, before Biden’s Team starts looking for fake charges to disqualify him from working for any president.
The IT department removes his security access, he won’t be logging into anything come Monday morning.

And note how, in this excerpt at least, they did not address this contractual and legal aspect. They only spewed ad hom.
The Biden regime will prolly send a S.W.A.T team after him on Monday morning.
If he will be forced to leave, it may give President Trump a blueprint to fire all Democratic appointees in near future.
Another one that will end up in Biden’s gulag like the “insurrectionists”.
If I were in that IT department, I’d definitely require an order in writing.
Or they could send officer Byrd to take care of the issue.
Biden is an illegitimate President... he cheated the election to win... so he has no authority. Don’t get it twisted.. he is not the President. He is an imposter and has no authority.
What president/VP is “surprised” at a military strike in a foreign land?
What president/VP gets “locked out” of the “white house?”
The Social Security Administration has always given me good service re both getting copies of employment/SS payments and questions of disability payments etc.
Hell, I’ve been trying to get registered for unemployment compensation from the state of Virginia for months aand mainly get an electronic run-around, duplication, failure to connect, etc. This is despite the efforts of one of our jackass governor’s office aides actually helping me in a timely manner.
This sounds more like an anti-Trump purge in extremis. I just wish Trump had done that on Day One, Jan. 20 2016 and gotten rid of the reds, Deep Staters, crooks, Obamites, Clintonistas, etc. from the Obama Red Regime. We would be in a much better position today re both domestic and foreign policies.
Bidan must prove he has not usurped his office before he fires someone

As of now, he’s showing more backbone and character than that.

Can you imagine the bumbling idiot Biden standing in front of Judge Judy?
No, he's a Trump appointee. No other reason needed.
In what universe? Everything is political these days. Trump was able to fill the job to begin with because McConnell refused to give Obama's last appointee a confirmation hearing.
He doesn’t serve “at the pleasure of the President” and can’t be fired at any time the President wants.
Yes he does, and yes the President can.
