Tucker Carlson had a similar experience when an NSA whistleblower revealed to him that the NSA was monitoring his communications. He reported this on his Fox television show, and it is safe to say that the NSA became furious.
Tucker, like me, believes that the Constitution means what it says. The rights it protects are both man-made, like the right to vote; and natural, like religion, speech, the press, self-defense, travel and privacy. The late Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis called privacy the right most valued by civilized persons.
The point here is that the CIA folks who triggered the spying on Mr. Trump and the NSA folks who spied on Mr. Carlson and me have all taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. Thus, when they spy without warrants or have foreign colleagues do it for them, they are not only subverting natural and constitutionally protected rights, they are also committing the crimes of computer hacking and misconduct in office.
The whole purpose of the Fourth Amendment is to be an obstacle to the government’s appetite for information about us. The amendment was written while memories of the British use of general warrants — which permitted agents to search wherever they pleased and seize whatever they found — were still fresh in the minds of those who fought the Revolution and wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

But then since the NSA spies on all Americans all the time, anyway, it is rather a moot point.
I am pretty sure it is the in the job description of the NSA to intercept and monitor calls and mail made to heads of foreign powers
yep
Bush signed a presidential order in 2002 allowing the National Security Agency to monitor without a warrant the international (and sometimes domestic) telephone calls and e-mail messages of hundreds or thousands of citizens and legal residents inside the United States.
The program eventually came to include some purely internal controls - but no requirement that warrants be obtained from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court as the 4th Amendment to the Constitution and the foreign intelligence surveillance laws require.
NSA is All-CCP-American...
Yet another apologist for the illegal, immoral and criminal surveillance state. Don’t you belong over at there the DUmp?
Snowden wasn’t THAT long ago. Goldfish have longer memories.
I thought that the intelligence community’s attack on Trump was an attack on all of us. This is just another battle in their war on us.
They’re attacking us via Trump, Carlson, even Napolitano.
And they’re lying about it.
Since conservatives have been the highest profile targets recently, they finally care about the issue. Unfortunately, the liberals have lost their healthy distrust of these agencies. Glen Greenwald is the only liberal journalist who seems to care.
IMHO, Edward Snowden is a hero.
s I’m sure the Founding Fathers intended to create a police state able to spy on every American, they just lacked the technology for it. /s
However the big difference here is not that he was trying to land an interview with Putin but his information was being leaked to controlled news outlets with intent to silence him.
If the intelligence community plays its cards right it will soon be more hated than the American media.
NSA’s spying on Tucker Carlson is an attack on all AmericansNo more than Tucker's and Fox's inaction, silence, even firing some hosts like Lou Dobbs for speaking out on the election fraud.
We can live through Tucker being spied on.
What Tucker and Fox have done, not to a President, but to our country is already almost too much to take.
You (and Fox) put them in power without question Tucker...live with it like the rest of us.
BTW, what do they say? If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about...
That was only true before you chose to live by the Obama/Biden/Harris administration rules.
Multiple federal agencies have been and are now weaponized against American citizens. The government spies on citizens routinely and when caught...Ok, dern it. My bad?
No one is ever held to account, so they just keep on..keepin on with their illegal activities.
Think about what that means. The government (officials) acting outside constraints of written law. Outlaws.
Pretty poignant if ya think about it. People within our government wielding the full power of government to persecute those they perceive as holding opposing ideological/political/dissenting views.
NSA, IRS, FBI, DOJ, BATF, OSHA, EPA, NEA, CIA have all been weaponized under Obozo and now Harris administrations.
Democrat or republican...should alarm everyone.
Snowden and Julian Assange should have received a presidential pardon. Trump knowing what he knows and going through what he went through should have been the one to pardon these guys.
The slightest variance of violating the 4th amendment, the right to privacy and to be secure in ones effects, and the snowball effect and slippery slope just had a rocket engine attached to every citizens back then lit off. Fascism on IV steroids at 30 PSI.
At this rate it may not be long before it comes up missing.
