The nation’s largest teachers’ union has quietly taken down a series of adopted and proposed resolutions from its website, including one that calls for the organization to defend the teaching of Marxism-rooted critical race theory (CRT) in public schools.
The National Education Association (NEA), which represents more than 3 million employees in public education, previously showed on its website resolutions proposed during its 100th Representative Assembly. As of the morning of July 6, three days after the online convention concluded, visitors could use the website to track the status of those proposals, including whether they were approved, denied, or referred to a committee.
On Tuesday afternoon, however, a number of those agenda items disappeared from the NEA’s website. Their pages now redirect visitors to the 2021 assembly home page instead.
Among the now-hidden approved resolutions was Business Item 39, which would cost the union at least $127,600 to advance a pro-CRT agenda. According to the plan, the NEA would share and publicize information about “what CRT is and what it is not,” dedicate a “team of staffers” to assist union members who “want to learn more and fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric,” and provide a study that critiques “power and oppression” in American society, including “white supremacy,” “cisheteropatriarchy,” and capitalism.
Rats, that’s not the end of the article. More at the link.
Teachers and their NEA union — Public Enemy #1.
Just because some CRT items were disappeared from the teachers’ union website doesn’t meant they’re not advocating and implementing it in your child’s classroom, you can be sure they are.
Get your kids out of the public schools - and vote down any/all school bonds where the schools represent views opposed to your own, such as CRT. We do this at our house - and make sure we vote in all school board elections.
Down Winston Smith’s “Memory Hole” into the eternal flames.
Whoosh!
Teachers have no business at all in being members of a union. They have enough “protections” as it is in being employees of the taxpayers. Teachers Unions must be removed from our taxpayer funded schools and banned, permanently. The same applies to ALL Public Sector employees.
Translation: They’re back to doing it old-school: indoctrination without being so public about it.
The NEA is a school terrorist organization.
Are we all seeing the problem now? The DOE, NEA, AFT. There is only one way to deal with these- Abolish the DOE- NOW. Institute schools choice and let the tax dollars follow the child.
I have been sick to my ears for the past 40 years watching what has happened to public “education”, and I know exactly who is at fault for what’s happened. It is SO past time to end the stranglehold of these enemies on our kids’ necks. I love the uprising of parents that is happening now and hope it builds.
Parents have far more power over these bullies than they know. Home schooling remains the best choice, but privates that have no affiliation with any teachers’ union, urban areas willing to fight like hell for charter schools. But most of all? Pay attention to your local school board races, and attend the meetings.
Fight for your kids, folks. Secure their futures.
The NEA can’t be transparent because the purpose of their union is to divide.
Add this to the long list of Leftist oxymorons.
Our education unions: Not Even Americans and American Federation of Tyrants.
Exactly.
They are just trying to hide the agenda in hopes that people will be distracted by the next shiny thing.
“Give me four years to teach the children, and the seed I have sown shall never be uprooted.” Vladimir Lenin, as quoted in Pan-Sovietism: The Issue Before America and the World
Unions of government workers are the real JFK legacy. Not only do they fleece the taxpayers for all they can but now they are becoming thought police.
I am incensed that the Republican Party has done NOTHING to create school competition and choice initiatives. I really do despise our do nothing elected “leaders” who are in it for themselves and fail to represent our interests.
Which makes it unbelievable that the GOP has sat on their hands on this topic for 4 decades.
but it’s still Pro-CRT , CCTV cameras should be in every classroom so parents watch
Unionized teachers is asinine.
“Just because some CRT items were disappeared from the teachers’ union website doesn’t meant they’re not advocating and implementing it in your child’s classroom, you can be sure they are.”
Yes, it’s evidence that they’re feeling the heat, but as you point out these bastards never ever give up. They’ll find a surreptitious way to do what they want to do. As Rush used to say, the only solution to squish them.
