President Joe Biden was greeted by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) on Wednesday when he arrived for a speaking appointment at an Illinois community college. The city’s rampant gun violence however was not on the public agenda, with Biden instead choosing to talk about “human infrastructure” and his American Families Plan.
AP reports the president set out for the Chicago suburbs to bolster support for both his bipartisan infrastructure deal and a broader package he expects will be passed with only Democratic votes.

Here’s an alternative America Families Plan: If you can fog a mirror and are drawing any king of transfer payment (e.g., food stamps, welfare, rent subsidies, etc.), you show up at a gov’t building at 7AM and work until 5PM. You might be washing windows, sweeping floors...whatever. If you have small kids, you show up at a gov’t run daycare center and spend the day taking care of your kids along with everyone else’s. This is called Workfare. I wonder how long it would take for them to find better paying jobs.
Oh, I would also structure welfare payments such that you get slightly more if the father of your children lives in the home. As currently structured, you get more money if the father is not there. Are we surprised that 72% of minority children are raised in a single-parent home?
Lightfoot thinks “gun violence” is a “public health issue” and that other states are to blame:"They have “very lax gun laws,” she said:
You can go across the border and if you’ve got the cash, you can buy literally military-grade weapons of any quantity and bring them back to Chicago.
Chicago Alderman Anthony Napolitano told Fox that Lightfoot’s remarks are “pure nonsense.”

Maybe they should do their job and clean up the crime. Oh, but it’s probably the certain protected group that get’s a pass.
Guns have not committed a single crime in Chicago.
Blacks on the other hand...
“Public Health Issue” is how the Left plans to get around the Second Amendment.
They have seen what they were able to do with the Chicom Flu ‘crisis’ and are drooling over the idea of applying it to other ideas like firearms, free speech, and property rights.
The fact that they ignored the elephant in the room (warzone in an American city) after a record breaking weekend tells you everything you need to know.
This is a toxic issue for democrats. Law and order is the worst issue for democrats among their own voter base in these cities.
They tried to blame Republicans. They tried to blame guns. They have tried to blame everything but their own policies. It is not working. I guess their new strategy is to just ignore the issue and hope it gets better on its own (it won’t).
One has to wonder why would an American President not talk about this issue when he was in Chicago? My best guess is that they realize how bad this issue sucks for them (finally). I cannot think of any other explanation and if you can I am all ears.

This can’t be a meeting of the minds, because these two only have half of one mind total between both of them. This is a symposium on lying being carried out by two real experts.

Democrats are people who are delusional. Not in a rhetorical sense but in a truly clinical sense. Being separated from reality defines a person as being psychotic. The symptoms manifest in the language that the psychotic use. Their own informal name for this psychosis is “woke.”
That would seem to sum up the whole issue. They may as well not even met to talk. No original ideas(or simple practical ones)brought out; absolutely nothing accomplished. The same situation as the southern border. Hey, maybe the mayor would have some good input on that subject. I imagine some of those losers coming across the border are ending up in Chicago anyway.
