Right now, there is a clear path ahead for Liz Cheney, and it does not involve the state of Wyoming.
She will deny this. And she may not even believe it now.
And for the rest of this year, she will continue to represent us to the best of her ability in the U.S. House of Representatives.
But I could see her traveling a different path, based on a number of steps that could very well happen. Three events have set the stage for this scenario.
The first was when she voted to impeach President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the nation’s capital.
Second was when she announced publicly her intention to do everything in her power to keep Trump from ever being elected president again.
Third was when her House colleagues stripped her of her leadership post.
All three of these things needed to happen for the scenario I’m about to lay out to become realistic and predictable.
In late December of this year, I could see Cheney announcing that she is not going to run for reelection in Wyoming. Why put herself through such a grueling ordeal?
Here is what she will be up against:
Nine candidates (so far) will have been traveling the state from one end to the other trashing her and her record. They will be hooting over how the even the national Republicans in Congress bounced her from her leadership role.
She will also be facing the Donald Trump backlash, which will be focused on a Trump-endorsed, well-funded candidate who has been spending the entire year of 2021 traveling the state and campaigning against her.

HA, you beat me to it.
She is the most charismatic and exciting candidate since Mondale and Dukakis. Her express lane to the top will be sparkling and glittering as the American people acclaim her as the new Jeb Bush or even Kasich. This may result in a groundswell of maybe “under 1% of the primary vote” and “does not qualify for a delegate seat at the convention as she is under the threshold.”
And her self-centered power grab dream dies in the gutter, face down.
liz and nikki can duke it out for the 1% of GOP voters who still miss george bush ...
Many ex-Cong pull up to the lobbyist trough in DC, so the idea that she’ll leave Wyoming might be plausible.
Does she even know where Wyoming is?
way too stupid to face a national crowd. She will fade even before she gets off the ground. Nicky Hales, with a lot more credentials, would be a better choice than Liz Chaney.
Bwaahahahaha. Somebody has been visiting the Colorado pot shops a little too much if they believe that.
He means, "Why put yourself through such a humiliating ordeal?
She needs to go hunting with her dad.
What is Bill Sniffen?
Cheney does not have a chance.
She is a dreadful person, daughter of another dreadful person and is not able to coast on the Cheney name because she has crapped on what was once that name.
She is DOA as far as politics. So be it!
I do hope that she goes hunting with Dick.
Advise her to not wear body armor...

I think he’s been Sniffin some glue.
She has as much of a chance as a snowball in hell.
Midnight Cowboy.
If she could not even get re-elected in Wyoming where the Cheney name gives her a massive boost, why would he think she would be able to run nationally?
The typical Dem ploy, “Dems would vote for her.” Dems want her to Run as a Republican, because she is the best they have to offer. The MSM will back her as their major choice as guaranteed loser. Their polls will show her as the leader of choice.
She’s done.
Which means they will split the anti-Cheney vote and she'll be reelected - unless Trump endorses one of them.
Absent a Trump endorsement, Cheney could be ousted if candidates drop out if they are not doing well, until there's just a couple of contenders left and then the one who is behind the front runner drops out. But I doubt that will happen. At least two and probably more will keep campaigning till the bitter end and Cheney will win.
It looks like another conservative circular firing squad unless Trump gets involved.
There’s maybe two or three candidates that have the money and organization to be competitive in a statewide race.
I like State Senator Chuck Grey’s chances.
