Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation that identifies eleven agenda items for the Special Session that begins at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 8.

"The 87th Legislative Session was a monumental success for the people of Texas, but we have unfinished business to ensure that Texas remains the most exceptional state in America,” said Governor Abbott. "Two of my emergency items, along with other important legislation, did not make it to my desk during the regular session, and we have a responsibility to finish the job on behalf of all Texans. These Special Session priority items put the people of Texas first and will keep the Lone Star State on a path to prosperity. I look forward to working with my partners in the Legislature to pass this legislation as we build a brighter future for all who call Texas home."

Special Session agenda items will include:

You can tell he’s got an election coming up.

That's the truth!

Not only that, but Abbott absolutely failed to protect EMPLOYEES from mask and vax mandates. With Texas a right-to-work state (which I’ve historically supported) that means your employer can fire you for refusing to take the vaccine.

And this isn’t just a “only in a hospital” situation - it’s universal.

If you’re in Texas - call your State Rep and Senator’s office to get them to let Abbott hear about this glaring oversight.

“He has done more than all of you purist sour grapes naysayers combined

Zealots are a conservative problem of the first magnitude”

Are you talking about the zealots that froze to death while Grabbot dithered around instead of telling the EPA to pound sand so we could get adequate generation back on line? Yea, I ran that call.

Or are you talking about the zealots that lost their life savings, dreams, and small businesses from the multi month “15 days to stop the spread” while Grabbot dithered around instead of -stepping up to lead- like other governors did?

Well other than the ones who saw no other avenue to turn things around and chose to take their own lives. Yea, I ran that call too.

Fact is Grabbot “leads” as a moderate except for a short period prior to his election when he wants us to think he is a conservative. He’s not.

Not from Texas, are ya. And if you are, you are very unaware of how things work here. The governor has very little power, compared to the Lt. Governor. Just a waste for West to run for that. If West was running for Lt., that would have gotten my attention. As things are right now, would have preferred for West to knock off Senator Cornhole before he sells us off to the ChiComs.

Curious as to whether those over ERCOT are the same ones living all about the planet instead of in Texas.

Speaker Joe Straus (2009–2019)

Too young to be LBJ machine, but very bad for Texas.

LBJ was very crooked.
