There has been a 45% Republican Turnover in Federal office since January 2017

Posted on 07/07/2021 5:25:34 AM PDT by cotton1706

On January 3rd, 2017 there were 241 Republican representatives and 52 Republican senators.

On January 3rd, 2021, 135 of those people were gone, 13 senators, 119 representatives.

Either by retirement, death, defeat, or movement to another office.

Five more senators are retiring, perhaps more (Grassley, Johnson), and others may be defeated in their primaries (Lankford, Murkowski).

The same with the House.

This is very healthy.

Rotation in office is a key to liberty.

Agreed. That is good news. I had no idea the % was so high.

Or a fear of getting indicted on trumped up charges because they are Republicans is also a reason for the mass exodus.

Rotation in office is a key to liberty.

Not if only one party has it. Term-limiting committee chairs, a great theory, has turned out to be a disaster for Republicans in practice. They quit instead of going to the back bench and you lose the power of the incumbent in elections.

Unfortunately the rotation of Senators is still filled with RINOs. The rotation needs to continue with MAGA candidates.

actually, “healthy” would have been THEM
NOT HAVING STABBED in the back and face all their
GOP voters and the ELECTED GOP President.

the disgusting, deserved-hated GOP
DELIBERATELY and KNOWINGLY ruined America by helping the CCP
take over with a FAKE ELECTION.

therefore, it would have been more HEALTHY if they
confessed followed by seppuku on the Capitol steps.

When the audits are done, a few of those senators might be back. Otherwise, the party has been changing, and new faces are a good thing for the party, and the country. People should serve a time and then go home, not remain forever in D.C. to get corrupted.

With the Democrats in the house and senate aging I wonder how that will pan out in the near future.

Abbott. Texas is ready for Col. West. Abbott can take a cabinet post in ‘25 or succeed the senator in 26.

We don’t need to stick around like Pelosi. It calls for a strong bench and to stick with the Susan Collins types where it would be a losing gamble.

It's only healthy if these elected Republicans come complete with a spine, otherwise it will be the same old, same old.
