In addition to challengers in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate next year, incumbent Sen. James Lankford said he is contending with opposition from a high-ranking member of his own party.
John Bennett, who was elected Oklahoma Republican Party chairman April 10, spoke later at the OKC Freedom Rally organized by Lankford’s Republican challenger, Jackson Lahmeyer, and is supporting him in his challenge to Lankford.
According to The Oklahoman, Bennett told reporters after the June 26 rally that Lankford’s decision not to object to the results of the 2020 presidential election after the Jan. 6 insurrection was proof that the senator couldn’t keep promises made to constituents. Bennett reportedly also said being a Republican doesn’t necessarily make someone “the right pick.”

It's perfectly ok for Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger to oppose the election of REPUBLICAN nominee or President.
And it's perfectly ok for the Bush's and Mitt Romneys of the world to endorse and vote for democrats.
And it's perfectly ok for John Warner and Richard Lugar types to endorse democrats.
And it's perfectly ok for Lisa Murkowski to NOT get behind the REPUBLICAN nominee after a loss and try to DEFEAT the REPUBLICAN.
And it's perfectly ok for Mitch McConnell and his minions to support EVERY moderate/liberal that runs against EVERY conservative.
But a state GOP chairman not remaining neutral in a state primary?? Why, that's "unheard of!"
It's not supposed to go the other way, ya see.

I’m in Oklahoma and my buds on our Oklahoma gun forum cannot stand that pimp lankford. We can hardly wait to vote against that liberal pimp.

I too am an Oklahoman, and I cannot wait to vote against lankford either. I have written him several times expressing my disgust with his positions. I’m also disgusted with Stephanie Bice. She voted for the Jan 6th commission. I wrote her a tacky letter also. However I’m not in her district.
Primary is June 28, 2022, a year from now. Voters memories are short. I say take a chance on this newcomer just like we might on JD Vance in Ohio. Ok. is red, worth a gamble just like Col. West in Tx.
All incumbents out.
Langford is partially OK. But I hope he gets primaried. What he did January 6 borders on treason and is FAR WORSE than any of the lies against the Jan 6 Capitol visitors.
