They might want to tell it to the 88 people shot over the weekend in Chicago.
Fourteen people have been killed and 74 others wounded this long Fourth of July weekend in shootings in Chicago since Friday, including five children shot since Sunday afternoon.
Two people were killed and four were wounded, including a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy... around the same time that a 6-year-old girl and a woman were shot in West Pullman and about four hours after an 11-year-old boy and a man were shot in Brainerd on the South Side.
Late Sunday afternoon, a 5-year-old girl was shot in a leg.
That's 5 children shot in one weekend in Chiraq.
By way of context, there were no American military combat casualties in Afghanistan in 2021. And there were 4 combat deaths in 2020.
More Americans were killed in one weekend in Chicago than in 2 years in Afghanistan.
That includes one active servicemember
A 19-year-old man shot and killed on Chicago's Northwest Side this weekend was an active member of the National Guard, his family and a community activist said.
Carvajal's family said he would have celebrated his 20th birthday on July 9. He wanted to become a Chicago Police officer to support the community.

Democrats are the ultimate racists.
They couldn’t segregate blacks through their racist policies in the last 400+ years, and they couldn’t eliminate blacks through the Margaret Sanger ideas, so now, they want to allow blacks to kill themselves off through elimination of law-enforcement and government that doesn’t give a damn about them.
The article is a bit dated: there were actually 19 murders in the City of Chicago this weekend.
We need to pull out of Chicago.
Or, better yet, expel from the Union.

We need to physically uproot Chicago and plant it firmly in Kabul.
The left wields absolute power over these communities. They have failed miserably. They will blame the weapon (classic misdirection) instead of the culture and community in which these children are raised.
The rest of us are told to shut up and remain silent. We must keep paying for the tragedy so others can throw more capital at failed people and institutions.
It is sad. The children in Chicago deserve better. All that potential destroyed on the altar of politics.
When is someone going to write an article about the blue states losing seats in Congress due to all the deaths in their metro areas?
