TALIBAN insurgents have captured a brand new cargo of thousands of US weapons and vehicles as Afghanistan spirals out of control.
Following the takeover of a former Afghan National Army base, the Taliban have come into the hands of thousands of unused weapons and vehicles intended for US and Afghan troops. From one base in Wardak province in the north of the country, Sky News showed how the insurgents have snatched an astonishing 900 brand new guns, 30 hummvies, 20 armoured pick-up trucks, thousands of rounds of ammunition and boxes upon boxes of brand new missiles and mortars.

Maybe but they will pay a huge price to do that, remember they’re billions of Muslims all over the world who can travel
YEah...all they had to do is put thermite grenades on the top of weapons racks and now they get scrap metal ..... Why they didn’t blow the HE mortars and 40mm grenades is beyond me.
“Nothing new. When US troops pulled out of Vietnam the weapons left behind made the Viet Cong one of the largest, best equipped armies in the world.”
When the Aussies pulled out of Vietnam, they destroyed everything. They blew up the buildings, destroyed all munitions and weapons; they even blew up the toilets so they couldn’t be used.
“The US doesn’t destroy this equipment because it is supposed to be used by the Afghan army. But they just run and hide and leave it all to be taken.”
The reason so many of our recent wars have failed it the complete inability to build up local forces. Compared to their Taliban rivals the Afghan forces have infinite money, larger numbers, and better equipment, but our allies still flee at the smallest threat.
The same thing was true in Iraq and Vietnam. We need to figure this problem out if we are to ever win a war again.
This happens everywhere we’ve been. We leave the rebels, insurgents whatever get our stuff.
B.S. - the weapons, ammunition, and equipment were left in the hands of the South Vietnamese army - the ARVN - the enemy only got their hands on them after the ARVN surrendered.
If this report is to be believed, the US left this on some base we precipitously evacuated and the Taliban took possession. If true, the US force commanders need to be charged with dereliction of duty for not destroying these stockpiles.
For China, that is not a problem. They can resell those organs.
Maybe the arms are a poison pill for other countries thinking of “investing” in Afghanistan.
True, but killing your own citizens is one thing, doing to another country is another, they control everything in China, in Afghanistan even if they kill millions the word will get out and the other side will take out a large number of Chinese...
John Mcain with members of ISIS
Will the taliban still be against poppy growing? Or will they encourage it because it helps destroy the infidels?
In contrast, the Taliban are more motivated than their Arabic counterparts, and the least likely to bend the knee to Western power.
The only Arabic group comparable to the Taliban is ISIS, and it will be interesting to see how that power struggle plays out.
“The Triumph of the Will”
Do you have a point, or just sharing your favorite film title?
The point is the people who have the strongest will, will win in the end.
We simply don’t have the will anymore, we’re too worried about world opinion.
Is that John McCain
On the Right?
And you chose a Nazi propaganda film title to make this point for what reason exactly?
Well are not the Taliban like the Nazis?
It was found before it was lost.
This is Benghazi times a thousand.
It’s an impeachable offense in my book.
