President Joe Biden had a snit fit at Friday’s press conference, lecturing reporters, “I want to talk about happy things, man,” because they were asking more questions about the Afghan pullout than he wanted to answer — and his goal was to push a narrative about his administration’s success.
Which misses the point of a president facing the media, namely (in part) to get him to address issues he doesn’t prefer to discuss.
The president whined, “It’s the Fourth of July,” and complained, “You guys are asking me questions that I’ll answer next week. This is a holiday weekend, I’m going to celebrate it. There’s great things happening,” listing some of his supposed successes.
He did answer the first two questions on Afghanistan, but mostly with hand waves, insisting America isn’t rushing out any faster than planned and that the democratic government has “the capacity to sustain” itself against the surging Taliban.
Biden’s backers in the media like to say he’s a return to normalcy after President Donald Trump, but is hiding from questions really better than the contentious back-and-forth Trump used to have?
Biden rarely faces the press at all and then routinely calls overwhelmingly on reporters he expects to be friendly. (His staff even hands him a list of “good guys.”) And of course most of the media are blatantly on his side (except when he actually tries to be bipartisan).

If Joe can hold an ice cream cone steady is a success. When he stops eating ice cream we’ll know something is changed medically for Joe.
I never watch the news nor care to see the POS Biden but I happened to catch a glimpse of him last night and WTF for real!? The guy is a corpse and the media acts like it’s all good.

Not just media, but the Republicans as well. They have a responsibility to be adversarial against the opposing party when they see potential threats. Joe Biden is a national security risk, they know he is not capable and they also know another entity is controlling him. HOW DARE THE REPUBLICANS turn a blind eye to this danger.
It will be interesting to see if any public events are scheduled for Joe while Jill Biden is in Japan attending the opening ceremonies for the Olympics.
Normalcy vs “the contentious back-and-forth Trump used to have”
The contentiousness with Trump was the partisan reporters (they aren’t journalists) asking only gotcha questions. They were arrogant and showed total disrespect. With Biden it is a love fest and if this is “normalcy” it is only for Democrat presidents. The WH press corp is not a news organization but simply useful idiots for the Democrat position and propaganda.
Answering questions from citizens about what the hell he’s up to is a big part of his job maybe Jill should take the questions

From their perspective their immigration policy is working wonders. This year well over a million illegal immigrants will be resettled across the United States, straining local government resources and ultimately changing demographics and voting patterns.
The US military is being transformed into a social experiment in political correctness and gay/trans activism.
Critical race theory is being implemented in school systems across the US.
The Republican party in Congress is effectively neutered.
The steal of the 2020 election has not been turned back.
Hunter Biden is free.
Trillions of dollars of federal “Covid relief” spending have been doled out to Democrat run cities, counties and states, solving their immediate fiscal problems. Much of the stimulus money is passing into the hands of Democrat aligned social justice and activist organizations which will influence heavily the 2022 elections.
The DOJ has effectively imprisoned 500 US citizens indefinitely, without due process, due to the alleged “insurrection” at the US Capitol. Civil liberties organizations, Republican representatives in Congress, and the media have zero interest in this suppression of inalienable rights.
Social media and mainstream media monopolies are actively censoring and silencing conservative organizations and former President Trump.
Trade and other restrictions on China have been lifted without a whimper from the opposition party.
It is back to business as usual in Washington DC.
