President Biden’s nominee to be the next ambassador to Germany is an Ivy League president whose university paid him nearly $1 million for an honorary professor gig where he was seldom seen, it was revealed Friday.
University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann, who has headed the Philadelphia-based institution since 2004, is the first envoy to a G-7 nation to be nominated by Biden.

It really sounds like the university president was double-dipping and also getting paid by the university as an honorary professor, padding their university president salary with an additional million dollars for the professorial gig. Also sounds like university president Amy is referred to as He and Him (which happens a lot these days.
If fact Amy's university was tossing US President Joe the million dollars for a no-show professor gig. Yes, with some discernment, you can see what was happening. But with just a quick read, this journalist had my head spinning.
Well - Germany is for sale to the highest bidder be it Russia or China - so why not have a US “ambassador” to match.
