hina and India have been moving tens of thousands troops to their disputed border as military tensions continue to rise since the skirmish between the two nuclear-armed neighbors last June.
China's People's Liberation Army has gradually increased numbers to at least 50,000, up from about 15,000 in June last year, Indian intelligence and military officials told the Wall Street Journal. It reported that numbers have mostly increased over the last few months.
India has also deployed tens of thousands of troops and heavy artillery has been sent to the region.
Much of the military build up has taken place in Eastern Ladakh, which overlaps Kashmir and Tibet, a key strategic area home to several critical rivers that supply vast amounts of waterflow to both China and India.

Suspect the Chinese would like a 4-6 week war during which they get to evaluate their arms and tactics. Also they would like to badly punish India as a warning not to get involved in any way if China has a prolonged conflict with Taiwan or other southeast Asian countries. Also they don’t want India supporting Australia or the US in trade disputes. Little risk to population centers or a larger war if the fighting occurs in the Himalayas.
India’s troops will make short work of China’s hobbit army. It’s the rockets and nukes that are the problem, and the Pakistanis will probably coordinate in any war alongside china.

While I think India’s soldiers are superior, China has the clear edge in hardware quantity and quality. At stake here, but almost never talked about, China is damming every river. This “soft power” gives them the capability of wrecking the economy of all their southern neighbors and even causing famine. All their neighbors will be dependent on having good relations (subservient) with China. Once China is fully occupied with India, the Chinese might find all the countries they have been threatening moving against their Chinese borders.
The CCP is stoking war fever at home because that’s their control mechanism over the populace. But as someone recently pointed out, you can over-train the guard dog so that it turns on you.
India has a first-rate airforce. The PLAAF is a huge question mark.
Yes, and India has been steadily upgrading their capabilities and hardware. The Indian Navy has also been updating their air power.

Then there's the fact that China has a huge shortage of marriage age females due to sex selective abortion and years of one-child policy. Don't be surprised if China's leaders feel like those men need something to do to let off some steam.
