Nowhere is the paranoia and overreaction to the (imaginary) threat posed by COVID's "Delta" variant more intense than in Australia, where tiny clusters of mostly mild COVID cases (most of which have reportedly been identified as instances of the Delta variant) have prompted another wave of lockdowns, involving not just Sydney (the island nation's most populous city), but six other cities encompassing half of the Australian population (more than 12MM people).
The cities now under lockdown include: Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Darwin, Townsville and the Gold Coast. And on Wednesday, the outback town of Alice Springs also entered a snap lockdown after cases emerged in South Australia.
Australian authorities now fear the Delta variant could now spread to nearby Aboriginal communities which are already vulnerable due to low vaccination rates. State leaders across the nation said they were "facing a pressure cooker situation" as more cases were discovered, triggering new lockdowns.

The Delta variant is less concerning than the earlier one.
I am not vaccinated nor will be. It looks for now I can work from home while those that did get the vaccines get to drive to work each day and enjoy the traffic and the time in the car.

This is so stupid. The Corona virus is not that deadly now. We are very good at keeping the virus from taking lives. The death rate is shrinking to levels nearing zero. And that includes the Delta variant. Yes its very contagious, but its not very deadly, nor is any other variant.
Lockdowns only serve as to delay the virus. It does not stop the virus. It will come for all. You either get the vaccine or the virus. Its that simple. There is no other choice unless you plan on hiding in one of bin Laden’s caves for the rest of your life. And that is what it would take. A lockdown only serves to slow the spread. It was never going to stop it, even with perfect adherence. All countries, even Taiwan, got the virus eventually.

We already have “delta plus”, which sounds like an airline seating upgrade. I’m waiting for the double-secret-probation variant.
We had the delta variant in our city of a million and a half people. We never went back into lockdown over it and now all of us are dead.

You too? I actually died from the original, then died two more times from variants. It’s not so bad. You get used to it.
The virus will most likely be hanging around the planet for another 10,000 years, or even 100,000. That’s what coronaviruses tend to do, and these are all part of the same group that causes the common cold. Most human beings have a wonderful and incredibly adaptive immune system to deal with these pesky microbes. Locking down and destroying the economy, and putting masks on people has little or no effect. It does, however, help central governments to tighten their control on citizens and helps the Great Reset along on its malignant path.
Isn’t Australia punishing by death anyone who prescribes Hydroxychloroquine or Ivermectin? Well maybe not death, but they will face charges.
I was told wear a mask as we are on a hybrid schedule of 2 days a week-—masks must be worn by the unvaccinated because-— I was not vaccinated, However, I have recovered from Covid, I sent the owners the studies showing “natural immunity and protection”. Then they blamed it on the Governor——freaking science deniers.

The delta variant is apparently four times as contagious as the alpha variant, but there is no indication that it is as serious as the early versions, and if anything, it seems to rank with a really bad cold. A lot of people have way too much time on their hands.
Those vaccinated also must wear a mask at the office because the landlord says so. Lawyers are waiting in the wings to sue everyone.
The great thing about the afterlife is we only eat meat—no Brussel sprouts for us. You catch a fish every time you throw your line in the water and there are so many animals we can use full auto AR10’s to hunt.
We usually barbecue the bear meat and smoke the salmon.
