The big difference is in 1941 America was still America, had the fighting spirit and will to survive and prevail. Leadership politically and ESPECIALLY militarily was on an entirely different plane then today. Half the country hates each others guts and wishes profound calamity to the other half and vice versa. Does not look good and sooner rather than later.
