Conservatives claim that schools are indoctrinating students in “critical race theory.” Liberals argue that conservatives don’t even know what critical race theory is — and that if they did, they’d realize teachers aren’t actually exposing kids to it.
But a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll suggests that the roiling culture war over so-called CRT isn’t about whether today’s schoolchildren are suddenly probing the complexities of an academic approach to race that originated among legal scholars in the mid-1970s.
Rather, the clash over CRT — aside from whatever the term now connotes in the public imagination — appears to be a supercharged spinoff of a deeper dispute between conservatives and pretty much every other group in the United States.

Certainly it resonates with me.
Theories are MOSTLY CRAP
CRT teaches that every white person is irredeemably racist. The conversation ends there. There’s no point in discussing anything after that.
Why would I take their resistance to CRT seriously?
‘Yahoo News and YouGov also asked — before ever mentioning “critical race theory,” so as not to influence the answers — whether respondents agreed or disagreed with the concept that “racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies.” We then asked if that concept is “something students should be exposed to in schools.” [...] A full 54 percent agree with it; just 27 percent disagree.’
Of course - the MSM has been pushing that line for a long time.
The foremost proponents of society being structured by the politics of groups were and are Marxists. The foremost proponents of society being structured by the actions and beliefs of individuals were our Founding Fathers and those who still believe in freedom and the role of the individual in society.
As they often do the Yahoo poll is slanted to get the results they are trying to get.
So far, up to this post, it appears none have actually read the article.
Republicans, hate it though they do, are the white party, and CRT is anti-white.
That's all there is to it.
They are riled up because critical race theory is utter nonsense and destructive. It denigrates individuals and casigates them into groupings that inhibits their ability to realize their potential and personal happiness. It fosters disunity. If accepted it gives credence to the very worst beliefs and practices of racists.
However, it’s clear the fundamental divide is between those who believe there is “systemic racism” and those who do not.
“racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies.”
CORRECTION:
the stupidty of giving credence to rabid, insane, Hate America nutjobs who want the US wiped out.
Wow!! Let’s make up some more BS.
This article is BS and a misguided sophistry..
Problem for me is that I think ALL human beings are racist. The only real question is, “to what degree?”
Kinda like all human beings are liars, but usually you need to cross a line to be called a liar, the same is true with racism. Or ageism, or attractivenessism or sexism, or classism, or all the other ways people size up people they don’t personally know.
It’s all about “systemic racism”.
A fantastic lie.
“they’d realize teachers aren’t actually exposing kids to it.”
Uh, stop straw-man arguing.
Yes, no one has been “exposed” to CRT in school - yet.
That is the point - schools are TRYING to start up CRT as BLM has pushed it on them and all bow to BLM, despite their whining protests that “we’re powerless”.
It used to be called using “judgement” ...before all the “isms” became vogue
systemic
the system they are referring to is the constitutional republic. it is inherently racist.
we are going to have to start all over, folks, with a governing document that is not inherently racist and, of course, will not even mention your unalienable rights.
It will be full of positive rights given by the government. You know, like the Soviet constitution.
agreed to tear down confederate statues in the Rotunda”
is that true, and actually decided?
