According to the Canadian Justice Department, the bill aims to:
* Amend the Canadian Human Rights Act to define a new discriminatory practice of communicating hate speech online, and to provide individuals with additional remedies to address hate speech;
*Add a definition of “hatred” to section 319 of the Criminal Code based on Supreme Court of Canada decisions; and
*Create a new peace bond in the Criminal Code designed to prevent hate propaganda offences and hate crimes from being committed, and make related amendments to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Always a one way street.
No good will. No good intentions A cudgel to be used is all it is.
Like all dictatorships.
They should release a book containing all the words, sentences and phrases that are considered hate speech; I guess that’ll include the Bible.
They are outlawing telling the truth.
How will they define “hate”? We can expect that “hate” against some groups will be ok, even praiseworthy, but “hate” against other groups will be strictly punished.
Christianity is the target and Islam is the protected.
YIKES! Now this is SCARY!
The word “inclusive” indicates who will be protected by this law and who won’t.
When you see Human Rights Act, Human Rights Campaign etc you may discover that they are quite anti-Christian.
Deep States have to take out the internet.
Can’t let the people you’re trying to oppress have access to info.
Canada needs to feel the wrath of Republicans when they overcome cheating and get back into office.
This is frightening. I am sure the Democrats will love it and be plotting on how to do the same thing in the US.
But Canucks will proudly beat their chest what a free country they live in.
it is quite comical in a disturbing kinda sense. No much future for this country....
Just who is going to occupy this “high Jedi council” that is pure and in direct connection and proven spokespersons for God the Father?
Right. What was the first thing to be shut down when the COVID hit?
“All Canucks are whiny wankers, eh.”
Come and get me, Dudly Doright. I dare ya.
"Hate" is anything they don't like, and will probably vary from time to time according to their whim.
So, if I post something they consider hateful in America on a Canadian-based website, can I then be extradited to answer charges?
