The too-close-to-call Democratic primary race that will likely decide New York’s next mayor was thrown into disarray after election officials admitted they accidentally included “test” results in the vote count, leading to 135,000 extra ballots.
The botching of the city’s first ranked-choice election was first flagged by front-runner Eric Adams, who pointed out that preliminary results from the Board of Elections showed that 941,832 votes were cast for the Democratic mayoral nomination, a huge increase from the 799,827 that were counted on primary day last week.
The BOE clarified its screwup in a tweet Tuesday night.
“It has been determined that ballot images used for testing were not cleared from the Election Management System (EMS),” the board said of the fiasco.
“When the cast votes were extracted for the first pull of RCV {ranked choice voting} results, it included both test and election night results, producing approximately 135,000 additional records,” the mea culpa continued.
“The board apologizes for the error and has taken immediate measures to ensure the most accurate up to date results are reported.”

Yes they did, and they tested Biden with tens of thousands of votes and Trump with a handful.
Ok, they cheat, we know that. The real problem is, NYC is a mess. A mess created by Dems. And now, only a Dem can win the mayoral election. I say screw NYC, there is no saving it.
The Democrat with the suddenly diminished lead is a law and order Black candidate who was a NYC cop for 20 years, and retired as a captain.
Of course, you never know if these guys will govern the same way they campaign.

He’s a Democrat. The lust for power and total corruption is what it means to be a Democrat. If elected, he will do exactly what the money tells him to do.
They are trying to set up the narrative that vote-counting is just too complicated to not be handled by some special, congress-approved group. Think about the Common Core math ideology.

They are all Democrats. One is slightly saner than the rest but that’s it.
My mother was a poll-watcher in New York in the 1960s and 1970s.
Her voting booths all had those steel analogue machines, which had a lever to close the curtain. The county also collected absentee ballots, which never amounted to much - it seems people were more interested in and responsible about voting in person
On election nights she was home by 10 PM and results were always announced shortly thereafter.
Seems America can’t even manage that now.
