If our unemployment rate is at 3.9% (which is d@mn good!) then WHY are there still places begging for workers?
Something is NOT adding up here. Can a Freeper smarter than me tell me what’s up?
I agree that we MUST wean people off the Government Teat, but I fear those days are gone. :(

You can use that site to look up BLS data for your own state, too.
I’m in South Carolina, near Greenville, and almost every production facility and/or warehouse has a help wanted sign in front of it.
I’m in Montana and there were signs up all over town advertising a starting hourly wage at $15.00 everywhere, now it’s up to $18.00.
$37,000+ starting salary...
No wonder there is not a single home available for less than $500,000.
If unemployment is low, that means most job seekers are finding work. That means employers looking to hire are drawing from a very small pool of possible applicants. It’s a “buyer’s market” where job seekers could negotiate higher wages because if the employer doesn’t hire them, there’s no other available option.
The low unemployment rate puts the lie to the need to “support people who can’t find work.” I guess you can’t find it if you’re not looking for it because you’ll be paid handsomely for not looking.
That 3.9% number is a lie? /shrugs
To continue to get those federal unemployment benefits all you have to do is show that you have in person meetings set up to continue to be on the dole.
Across the industry I am in we will have plenty of applicants throughout the interview process all the way up to the in person final interview. It is not uncommon (and has happened at our business a number of times now) that the appointment will be confirmed and then they never show up for the meeting.
Don’t have to go any further to get the benefits.
Evers is killing this State.
If our unemployment rate is at 3.9%
The labor force participation rate also plays a role.
