A woke school superintendent in a ritzy part of Connecticut has resigned just days after agreeing to a new $225,000 contract — with parents blaming him for “alienating” them with his “strong liberal ideologies,” according to a report.
Rydell Harrison announced his resignation from the district covering Easton and Redding in a letter Friday blaming “a number of unique challenges” that led him to question if the job was “a good fit for me.”
It came less than two weeks after he agreed to a new contract to stay for another two years, with an annual salary of $225,000 plus generous benefits, the Connecticut Post said.

That is great news!
I see this as a very good sign. It appears people are no longer willing to sit by and let things they see as problematic go unchallenged.
Let's hope this continues and picks up momentum.
$225K annual salary -— running an institution that claims its workers don’t get paid enough -— and that’s without even getting into how much his pension is worth if you were to try to buy a comparable fixed rate annuity.
Parents standing up finally?
I work for a school system in the Metro Atlanta area. Our school superintendent makes the same salary as this guy. The cost of living is much lower here than in Connecticut. It’s outrageous what many of these public education leaders make. But the public just seems to stroll right along not caring if they pay high taxes to support these vampires.
“I see this as a very good sign. It appears people are no longer willing to sit by and let things they see as problematic go unchallenged.”
Once the left started messing with the kids in such a direct way they crossed a line. Arrogant dummies.
But I'll take it a step further and tell you the cost of living in Atlanta might be lower than Connecticut, but it's not as low as it is in any part of Sweet Home Alabama, including just outside of Huntsville where I live. My nice software engineer income stretches pretty far here so I can invest it in tax efficient accounts and retire early after putting kids through college. Y'all can have your high cost of living Democrat-run places.
Wish just one school district somewhere would wake up and say, “Hey, you know what, we’re gonna go a year without a Superintendent making a quarter mil a year and see what happens”.
Let the administrative staff report directly to the school board. Anyone who thinks a superintendent does anything more than rubber stamp staff decisions and go to service club breakfasts has never paid attention to one.
i am sure he has a parachute clause in there somewhere for him.
I notice this guy goes by the title of “doctor.” So I looked up his dissertation, for an EdD. First dissertation I have ever read that had no data, only stories from 14 gay black kids. And a whole lot of ideological word salad, and armchair speculation about what it all means. Sort of like Dr Jill. No wonder he blew it so bad.
If it can happen in Connecticut...
Why carry on this pretense? Just give people any degree or title they choose. There aren’t any standards any more, so why waste 4 or more years and a lot of money?
Wow! A good news story that hasn’t been dumped on by our usual, nefarious, gloom and doom Soros trolls who infest FR.
Thanks, ChicagoConservative27.
Let’s celebrate.
“and go to service club breakfasts”.
They also play GOLF at political and financial “RETREATS”!
Take away the tie and the shirt and jacket and what do you have. A pretty gift wrapped gift can still have a load of sh## inside
Don’t forget the cadillac health and pension bennies...
Thise are a bigger threat to solvency than the salaries.
