Germany has 84 million people, almost 100,000 covid deaths and almost 4 million total cases.
The UK has 67 million people, 130,000 covid deaths and almost 5 million total cases
France has 65 million people, 111,000 covid deaths and almost 6 million total cases
Adjusted for population and higher percentage of elderly in the UK, that puts the UK sandwiched between Germany and France in cases and deaths. = on the average, no big difference. Which means Merkel really has no solid ground footing for restricting double-vaccinated Brits.
Those numbers actually do not matter at this point.
What is the vaccination rate? Countries with poor or low vaccination rates are actually wise to close their borders until their people are vaccinated, infected/recovered.
The metric we need to be looking at has changed as the world progresses through this crisis. And yes, we have to move through this, any country thinking they can stop infection is looking for a miracle that doesn’t exist.
This is where the virus messaging is being used to terrorize the world. A fast moving, highly transmissible bioweapon will overrun an unprepared medical system. The crime is what the “elite experts” have done to stop all prehospital treatments.
