On July 18, 2019, federal agents with a warrant searched the El Dorado County home of a Sacramento Metro Fire captain looking for illegal machine gun parts.
It didn’t take long to find a trove of weapons.

That’s the quote right there. Nobody’s saying this guy was dangerous. Nobody was saying he hurt anyone or was going to hurt anyone. No one is saying that anyone was in any danger at any time. But, he must be arrested and prosecuted. Multiple felonies. Treated like he’s murdered people. Because he has scary guns sitting in his house not hurting anyone.
......I wonder what the 500 odd folks he’s got in solitary confinement in D.C. prisons would have to say about this?

All legal firearms and legal parts when not assembled. The trigger groups for Glocks maybe, but only if they had actually been tooled on and altered to work in that way. Even the UZI parts are legal as a semi-auto build. But because of those two parts it became a huge “Trove” of illegal firearms with deceptive wording. I hate that...

FTA:On July 18, 2019, ATF agents returned to Oakes’ home with a warrant signed by a federal judge. They were accompanied by a California Highway Patrol officer and El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies.
So local and state law enforcement officers entered a home (with ATF agents) using a Federal warrant. They did not find any firearms that violated federal laws or they would have charged Oakes in federal court.
What they did find were firearms that violated California state laws. Oh, by the way, the California state laws have just been declared unconstitutional.
Clearly, the search exceeded the limits of the search warrant. Oakes' lawyer is trying to quash the warrant and suppress the evidence. I sincerely hope he succeeds.

If the law is so complicated, or changes so frequently, that an average citizen must hire a lawyer to avoid infractions, then it's time to repeal that law...
