The city of Sydney announced on Saturday that they will begin a two-week lockdown this week due to a surge in COVID-19 Delta variant cases, Reuters reported on Monday.
Health officials said that parts of the city were already locked down due to the outbreak, saying cases and exposure sites are rapidly increasing.
The lockdown will include parts of the Australian state of New South Wales and their three regions, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, and Wollongong.

Too late to go back here, at least in red states. Governors won’t allow it.
The nations who bow to the Queen are NOT free countries.
Even the Nazi’s didn’t check everyone’s papers in a cafe to see how far they were from home.
Lockdowns DO NOT WORK ! At some point, the whole world will have to accept that.
Australians have surrendered to tyranny. Fools.
I remember COVID tracking apps here in the states but no one used them. A huge failure.
It’s just 15 days to slow the spread!
The more they lockdown, the more it spreads.
They need to open up and achieve herd immunity and treat the sick prophylactically.
