It has become an all too familiar theme in Republican politics in the Post-Trump era: local and state GOP leaders and office holders talk a good America-first conservative game to keep the voters happy on one hand, while kowtowing to extremist minorities in order to avoid being branded as racists or worse. We now have a leaked Franklin County Pennsylvania government email that serves as proof of this duplicity taking place in a deep red county.

i would,probably take a different tack...
This is spot on correct. You are guaranteed to get "establishment" if the same people remain in government. I frequently write, no person should be allowed to be employed in government for more than 12 years, at all levels of government combined. That includes dog catchers to senators. I realize the consequences of that. For instance DeSantis is going on year 10 (I think) and he would be not be eligible to run for President.
Maybe an exception would be 12 years in one particular office.
ConservativeInPA as you probably know, PA is one of the worst cases here, and Franklin County is the worst of the worst.
I realize that. I suspect that you go over one county, to Fulton County, which is even more red than Franklin County, you will find the same thing. I have family in both. I am up north just a little ways in Dauphin County and lived for over 25 years in Cumberland County, right next door to Franklin. I have seen things change over the years, but the intrenched establishment types are a constant. In a lot of ways, it is a family business. People in these parts just want to go on with their daily lives; which are very conservative. They think they have things covered when they vote for the same R over and over again. I am pretty sure this isn't a county thing or a state thing. I am willing to bet that you would find the same thing in a lot of rural counties across the nation.
Oops, didn't have a full cup of coffee yet. But it would be interesting to see senators serve one 6 year term followed by a 4 year term just to mix things up. Just as they get "established" in their second term the get escorted from office by the Sargent-at-Arms and thrown to the curb. Or perhaps, lightman would probably propose the solution of defenestration after 10 years. It would be a ceremony that I would enjoy. (Only kidding)
bump
Your idea only works if all staff from the elected to everyone except building maintenance has the same restrictions. Otherwise you’ll construct a “Deep State” or “Swamp” so omnipotent society would never recover.
Always remember that in American politics STAFF RULES. We’ve never had a more clear example than the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in D.C.
I would include all government jobs. Additionally, no one in the same family can have a government job at the same time as another family member. A labor shortage would limit the size of government. The bottom line is government policies can not be implement without people. Choices would have to be made between essential government services and those that are not since there would not enough people to do everything.
I like it.
The dog catcher has useful skills, and will be harder to replace.
That is why I advocate requiring all political donations to be ANONYMOUS. You can't sell influence if you don't know who's buying.
Americans should be able to donate any amount they wish to any candidate or party they choose; that is FREEDOM. But purchasing a result for the donation is BRIBERY, a crime.
I really don't give a damn about dog catchers. I certainly don't want to pay for one thru taxes or pet licenses. If there is a problem with an animal then individual citizens can take personal initiative and put the animal down. One bullet and done. If the animal is a stray and not a threat, then take the animal in or take it to a shelter. We don't need to pay someone to do that, plus healthcare, plus a pension.
I think you missed the point...that Dog Catchers are of greater value than Senators.
