1% of a few hundred cases is trivial and it doesn't matter if you are vaccinated or not, it's still 1% mortality. The reason for vaccination is it makes you less likely to get infected if you are exposed. Israel is starting to back off on reopening, showing vaccines are not a panacea, just an imperfect tool.

I am not sure that is true of the Delta variant.
If over half the ppl are vaccinated and most of the remaining have already had Covid and refused vaccination, then who is still spreading the virus?
