I think it is too. And have been playing with it. The huge question is can a voluntary node resource be personally held liable and “in possession” of any data content going through their system node? Encrypted or not?
This question needs to be clarified before too many are going to jump in and help contribute resources. They are going to be concerned about exactly what they are relaying. If it happens to be encrypted illegal content can they be charged also just because they helped relay it through their system resources?
I could be wrong but I don’t think he is talking about crypto currency as much as he is mentioning the Blockchain protocol it’s self for other uses. Take QTox as an example.
Just vulnerabilities that are found every day. This is the one plus of the open source community. We don’t need to wait for MS or Amazon or Mac to let us know we have a compromise. But you really have to know your stuff to be a kernel plumber and find these in the kernel. Consider it one level above Assembly language.
Good point. Not that there is any law left in this country, or justice, it is probably irrelevant.lol..jk. FB and TikTok and twitter aren’t held responsible for illegal content on their platforms. But we all know the double standard. You know things are getting bad when you need to lawyer up to advance technology. This will all be irrelevant before too long. I’m looking for frequency hopping encrypted LR comms. :-)
We haqve been using the QTox for awhile now. Works great. But the goal is of course building social websites similar to how a self federated system works. Like Mastodon and ZeroNet.
I am playing with the ZeroNet now...

Ooops, broken link... Good article...

Our opinions on crypto are the same. Plus, if the grid goes down i’d rather have beans and bullets. Trends and pattern recognition show these type of events like Cyber-Polygon tend to be followed by an actual event.

Thanks Openurmind. I’ll give it a read.
My privilege, I am trying to get something going with this off grid technology myself. I had not heard of the “Twister” mentioned at the bottom of that article...
Uh Oh... Going to have to go play now... lol
I’m not ready to give in and say that they’re from the government and they’re here to help.
The utility route benefits them in government more than it benefits me and I can easily see where it hurts me so why should I take that poison pill? Besides, a complete re-writing of the whole customer equation would throw the cloud providers on their heels. They’re subject to what happens in the software world. We’ve got them - if we want to get them.
They have many 5 million dollar clients and 10 million dollar clients and more currently, so they can afford to lose smaller clients and it doesn’t impact the bottom line. Why would they have to be customer oriented? They’re not customer oriented. Saul Alinsky wrote and he has a point, that power goes to two poles. Those who have the money and those who have the people. Who has the people right now? It’s a fair question to ask. Big tech has the people. So we can say we want to use Alinsky back at the left, or we can actually get to it and use Alinsky against them. We aren’t a threat because we aren’t threatening.
Consider this, we as conservatives say we love small businesses right? How about conservatives empower little tech at the expense of big tech. The hard part is getting people to want to participate and I’m not sure what its going to take. Do you want to empower little tech?
The one thing I do know that’s irrefutable is the 9 scariest words in the English language. “I’m from the government and I’m here to help” I can always rely on this. Always. It never fails. Frogs cannot trust scorpions.
My recognition that AWS, Azure etc are de facto utilities does not imply I think it necessarily good to let the swamp regulate them. Just a statement about what the facts on the ground are.
lol. That is what I was really referring to in my comment about blockchain. This is going to kill the FBs and Twitters of the world and I couldn’t be more happy.

Same here... The only thing holding it back is that node content relay issue. Be nice to know we would be in the clear and not liable for sure. I know it is the only thing holding me back from going all in right now. :)
Google will be the one taken down hard... No more TLD registry or domain controls.
HALLELUJAH!!!!
Absolutely, well stated. :)
I know, most of my health issues were DOCTOR OR THEIR MEDS CAUSED. 3 FREAKING HOLES in my eardrum to treat Meniere’s, which could have been treated with oral steroids. Instead of screwing up my hearing.
Sorry GailA. Unfortunately I know dozens of people that are permanently scarred for life or dead because of medical malpractice. One of my closest family members had glaucoma and they put a stint in his eye and now his eye looks off in another direction. My folks are not litigious people but I told him he should sue that doctor out of business.
They try to push the most profitable procedure or Rx. I know one super-experienced emergency room doctor in Charlotte, NC who went into severe depression because he took the “Do no harm” oath and he is 4th generation doctor. The hospital admin was ordering him to do things that went directly against an oath every doctor must take. Sad.
I got lucky and found a good MD from WV who has his own practice and is simply amazing. He has diagnosed things by simply looking at them that were pretty bizarre. I have to travel all over the place and stay in hotels and airplanes and airports and cabs and I picked up a rash that started covering my body after an overseas trip. He didn’t even put on latex gloves and felt it which I thought “This guy is insane”, he left the room and came back and identified it as a very rare virus and said it would go away by itself. And it wasn’t because most people already have the virus, it just gets activated at some point in some people’s in life.
My previous doc would have sent me to get 3 CAT scans, put me on 4 RXs, and send me to 12 specialists.
That is why hub has to drag me to the ER, PA’s are not Doctors, that is what they use in Memphis now. Plus bad treatment, blown veins, 1 look tells you I use child size IV PICS. Hours of waiting, Jacksonian seisures left untreated, pain not treated. HOPE DINGLE LIKED HER ULCER THEY VOTED FOR.
Plus the fact they have crappy dietary, NO one seems to know how a patient needs to be fed, they see Diabetic, miss the Gastropresis, opposites as far as digestion goes. I eat a Meat/Carb low Sodium diet. 4+ hrs for the Gastric delay test, that takes 1 hr for normal people to digest. Tired of pricking my fingers, where’s the watch? Not the Adhesive patch/phone App, can’t use Adhesives, EKG Leads break me out.

Sorry to hear that Gail. I’m also sorry you live in Memphis. Did a 3-year-stint in Memphis. I love parts of it and the BBQ and Memphis in May, but I was working in Hickory Hill (Hood) and lived in Germantown which was getting bad when I left nearly 20 years ago. I hope I haven’t offended your town of residence. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I wish you the best.
