Early on June 17, Elsa Mikeska was shot and killed outside a Houston gym. The 62-year-old grandmother had just pulled into the gym parking lot when two men in an older Chevy Suburban got out, apparently demanding money, and then shot her dead as she fled toward the gym entrance. At this point, one of those responsible, a 16-year-old now charged with capital murder, has been apprehended, while two others remain at large.
It appears that the same persons who killed Mikeska may have attempted a carjacking an hour earlier and that same night shot through the window of a nearby home — into the bedroom of a 16-year-old girl.
It goes without saying that Mikeska's killers must be caught and punished. But these killers, described by police as young Hispanic men, are just two or three out of a brutal underclass that threatens the conduct of everyday life everywhere in America. Though it includes whites as well, a disproportionate share of that underclass is Black and Hispanic — the same groups that are now flooding into America across our southern border.
According to 1991 Bureau of Justice Statistics, 4.4% of white males, 16% of Hispanic males, and 28.5% of Black males have spent time in state or federal prison. According to a study based on more recent 2010 data, 8% of the U.S. population overall and 33% of Black males have been incarcerated. In 2019, Blacks committed 5,660 murders and non-negligent manslaughters, while whites were responsible for 5,070, despite the fact that Whites constitute 60.3% of the population and Blacks 13.4%.

The surburban left, which is ALL politicians, will say these stats mean we incarcerate out of proportion to popuoation rather than admit tye truth that they point to out of proportion CRIMINALITY.
This is the same argument they are using in not prosecuting crime and not punishing school troublemakers.

I have no doubt that the authors statistics are correct. But then what?
The author says that the solution is stiffer sentencing. He’s right about that. If you’re going to just get a slap on the wrist for stealing a car, why not go out and steal another car?
But stiffer sentencing doesn’t get to the root of the problem. Part of the problem is, of course, the breakdown of the Black family unit. That will be tough to fix.
Another problem is that much of Black culture is focused on violence (rap songs, etc.). Again, I state the obvious. That’s another tough fix.
But the third problem can be fixed. It’s the problem of poverty. If you doubt that poverty plays a part, consider this. Would there be such a disparity in crime between the races when looking at folks who make over $50,000 per year?
To fix the poverty problem, bring factories back to America! Give folks in the inner cities a place to work, and earn a good income.
Trump got that. He tried to bring the factories back. He really tried. And got the bum’s rush for all his efforts.
Democrat politicians, big media, and celebrities do not care about this & barely cover it. If on of the owners of the NYTimes gets murdered by an illegal, they will cover it.

the author obviously did not receive the memo which states that the truth about crime cannot, under any circumstances, be allowed into print. Only references to social injustice and racial justice are allowed. Any disproportionate murder rates are due to “white racism”.
I Totally disagree. I remember my favorite radio host in Chicago once said. If I put 1 MILLION dollars on Everybodies doorstep tonight, in 1 year THE SAME PEOPLE WILL BE BROKE. That statement my friend is the Absolute Truth !
Local media reports say the 16yo in custody has or will be charged as an adult of capital murder yet the media refuses to give his name citing that he is after all just a juvenile. Huh?? Release his name in hopes of finding the others the police are still looking for. Maybe someone in the neighborhood may know of the murdering teenager’s known associates who helped the 16yo committ this horrendous crime and inform the police and maybe stay out of the way of those still on the run. Of course the media has its narrative it wants to preserve here and the public be damned.
But who keeps reelecting those scumbag politicians back into office every election cycle?

I see your point when it comes to just giving people money. It does nothing to strengthen character. Heck, we see that with welfare payments.
But good jobs, that’s something different.
A story: Years ago I was driving through a city, and I decided to stop at a fast-food place. As I was walking up to the store, through the window I saw a Black employee arguing with the manager.
I thought that maybe a fight was about to break out. But I was hungry, so I went in anyway. It turns out that the Black kid wanted more working hours, but the manager couldn’t give it to him.
That Black kid deserves a good, full-time job. Everyone does. When I got out of high school (early 1970s), I had my pick of good factory or railroad jobs. Those factories are all gone now. And the railroad is a shell of its former self.
As I noted earlier, Trump understood all of this. It is a great tragedy that he was forced out.

Not really: 1. the Democrat Party and the GOPe cooked the election and 2. More minorities voted for Trump than any other Republican candidate in the past.
I have two cousins who are police officers in a smaller city in the Southeast that is about 20% black. Both of them have said to me something to the effect, “If it weren’t for black crime, there would be virtually no crime in our city.” So, it is beyond disportionately black/Hispanic. It is more like 99%.
