Remember "Republicans pounced?" It has been used so much for the past few years that it has become a laughable cliché that has even earned an entry in the Urban Dictionary:

They got mocked so much for overusing "Republicans pounced" that Politico had to come up with an alternate word.

They also can’t write a story without using hyperbole and superlatives in every paragraph. I long for the days of “who, what, where, when, why and how.”
