Have to dig, but who is making money from this outrageous program?
Which Cronies of Cali Pols are being paid off? Or is it the Pols themselves?
Come on, California! Get to the bottom of this theft!
Glamping?
Don’t forget the overhead costs which are extensive. First will be insurance. City can’t provide accommodation without insurance. Numerous inspectors (health, welfare, environment, ad infinitum) various and sundry counsellors, coordinators and patent medicine sales people. Then there are the actual workers to do things like garbage collection, maintenance, etc. Plus an endless chain of satraps, viziers, poobahs, and ne’er do wells.
Amen.
Your right when you claim local taxpayers are not the real payers it’s u-n-me and our kids paying for years later
Bring back mental hospitals and poor farms.
You are being logical and cost-conscious. You must not be a liberal. No, no, no; price must be inflated so politicos can take their cut. Folks like Stossel did stories on the homeless scam (aka bums and 1% truly there of no fault of own) out here. All of the Ca politicos have a digit in the bucket on this scam. It funds a lot of campaigns. And, since they are now federally funded, thank you for your contribution. :)
...to the next level.
To help pay for these costs, the city of San Francisco in its infinite wisdom fired all of the independent power washers of SF’s poo covered streets.
They apparently became not essential.
The total budget is $1 billion per year. For that price they could buy a few massive hotels and house them all. But that wouldn’t cover the cost of the all the looters who work for the city
The exorbitant cost may be due to the virtually non existent restroom facilities.

That picture shows U.N. Plaza just east of City Hall. Used to be a popular place with a Farmer’s Market. I guess the City couldn’t stand getting tax revenue from all the sales there, preferring to throw away tax dollars rather than generate them. Incidentally, the City has several building sites around the city offering laundry, entertainment, telephone access, showers and free drugs for the homeless - all paid for by tax money. Taxpayers get little in return for their taxes.
They always double down on failed policies, don’t they? The reason is that those policies are actually quite successful in transferring money from the taxpayer to the politicians, who would be foolish to actually solve the problem. When they run out of local taxpayer money there’s a big, beautiful country to plunder through the federal government. This thing isn’t going away anytime soon.
Shhh
60k is enough to live on most places.
They could send then to live in your community or mine with that budget.
Let them keep them there in San Francisco with their tents and street defecation.
OMG I could live on 60K a year very easily WTH?? This is utter insanity!!
From the pics it looks like they were donated. They don’t seem any thing special.
