Ohio governor says sports leagues, not government, should address transgender issue

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Friday criticized Republican efforts in that state to bar self-identified transgender athletes from competing in sports leagues of the opposite sex, claiming that sports authorities should be the ones to tackle such a problem.

"This issue is best addressed outside of government," DeWine said in a Friday statement, "through individual sports leagues and athletic associations, including the Ohio High School Athletic Association, who can tailor policies to meet the needs of their member athletes and member institutions."

Is there a more worthless Republican governor in the country today? Maybe that guy from MA? It's a shame that a state that enthusiastically voted for Trump twice is saddled with a POS like DeWine.

If there is one constant it’s Republicans ability to screw up even the easiest slam dunk issues.

Yes, DeWine is a worthless piece of RINO sh^t. But he's right. We cannot rely on worthless pieces of RINO sh^t like him to do the right thing and enforce common sense practices to protect our women in sports from men with gender dysphoria. We the People need to take a stand and vote with our dollars and our time.

Hey, let the trannies take over women’s sports until the suburban moms have apoplexy as they see their daughters aced out of sports and scholarships. This is what they get for supporting so many liberal causes. Eventually, reality will win. It always does.

Then sports leagues could demand authority over a whole bunch of other issues, like public health and vaccination status in the facilities they use. Shut up, DeWhine.

He knows full well that the administrators of those leagues will knuckle under to pressure from t the hard left — rather than have their lives threatened and the lives of their families disrupted.

Ever notice that the trannies only want to do the sports they couldn’t win at as men? You never see them clamoring to do synchronized swimming or gymnastics.

Women athletes need to get used to competing with men. The ratchet only goes one way.

Republicans lost the culture war narrative decades ago.

They could have nipped all of this crap in the bud going back to the AIDs outbreak and rightly blaming promiscuous homosexual men and drug usage instead of listening to Oprah.

All this transgender talk, which will soon escalate to accepting pedophilia, incest, bestiality, and necrophilia, are just building blocks for the Left.

Either have one league for all genders, or 57 leagues for the 57 different genders.

If you want to keep your women’s sports, you can’t. Too bad.

There are transgenders who understand the difference between men and women...they should take the high-road, declare no men who call themselves women should be allowed to compete in any sport UNLESS they compete against sportsmen of the same DNA.

Gay marriage legalization was probably the last chance Republicans had. Too bad they turned out to be wimps even though it was a fairly popular issue at the time. They were too beholden to big business all of which supported leftist “culture”

This is an indefensible cop-out. Public schools are an arm of the government, and plenty of cases have held that includes policies relating to sports teams. So of course it is the job of the government to make those policies.

Wrong. A legitimate function of government is to protect people from harm that is being willfully inflicted by individuals or organizations that hold authority over those persons. Sports leagues have already shown they have no interest in protecting female athletes.

As an Ohioan, it is true that the Ohio High School Athletic Association is a private organization. Theoretically, they could easily bypass government and decide this on their own. But then they’d be sued, and they don’t have fundi g for that kind of thing.

Let them try to make a sex at birth rule. Maybe it will hold.

Better to have a law that supports them, though.

Simply change to XX and XY competitions.

Solved it!
