And will it be extended after that, and the qualifications made more lenient, so more and more people qualify for payoff of their back rent?

eviction moratorium through Sept. 30
What year?
Hope the landlords don't forget to pay their property taxes, utilities, maintenance, salaries of employees--no moratorium for them...

If they don’t pay the landlords directly they will never see it.

Very sickening! I know a lot of people who worked hard during the pandemic to pay their rent. Or others moved either back to their parents or to a smaller apts./homes. They are punished for such work, initiative, and self responsibility. Also how did California that taxes us to death have a surplus? You’d think they NEEDED the taxes they overcharge us for. Guess not. Looks like their is a lot sitting around to just throw to whoever from our monies that are robbed via taxes.

IMHO.... Landlords should be able to deduct all none paid rent from their taxes.
Deadbeat renters should have to declare all unpaid rent as income.
