Cece Telfer, a transgender woman who won an NCAA Division II championship in 2019, was ruled ineligible Wednesday to compete in the U.S. Olympic trials. USA Track and Field (USATF) said in a statement Telfer failed to meet the World Athletic requirements to be eligible for trials. She had initially been on the list for Friday’s opening heats but an updated list Wednesday did not include her name. World Athletics’ guidelines, released in 2019, stated that female athletes’ testosterone levels were at 5 nanomoles per liter or more were barred from events between distances of 400 meters and a mile.
Telfer was readying to compete in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at Olympic trials.
USATF said it "strongly supports inclusivity and providing a clear path to participation in the sport for all, while also maintaining competitive fairness."

HE is a male. Doesn't matter that he is mentally ill and wants to be a female.
Fox using “she” ..
Our world has gone insane.
Know some aging weight lifters who have low T and they still can throw some serious weights around.
And women seem to to be in favor of this garbage.
How could any sane person be in favor of this and how could any self respecting man want to compete with women in an athletic event.
I feel sorry for the hundreds of athletes who worked so hard to compete in this world event that has become a ludicrous joke of sports.
Won’t watch it.
muddying the waters of everything they can get their hands on
Poor guy needs medical help but society is too shallow and sick to give it to him.
The same can be said for Bruce Jenner......mentally ill!
But Fox keeps highlighting/ interviewing him!
And to think that once all the poor souls who declared themselves to be Napoleon were locked away in mental institutions...we might be owing them and their descendants reparations.
SMH.
Surprisingly enough, Jenner is very opposed to letting biological males (that is, transgenders) compete in women’s sports.
Soon there'll be a story of the woman who got the silver because she was beaten by a guy.
Many if not most women are not in favor of it, especially those in the word of athletics, but they’re afraid to say so.
A couple of (real) women athletes have made statements opposing letting men compete against women. They have been shrieked at by the press, the professional sports associations, and the LGBTQRSTUV lobby (even though in at least one case, the female athlete who complained was gay herself) and have been threatened with loss of sponsorships. In other words, they’ll be cancelled and lose their incomes if they speak out.
Too much Testosterone …Why Can’t America use that medical reason to stop destroying young female athletes from this ridiculous social garbage.? Because we’re a joke, not woke…
Yes,
at least Bruce Jenner won hie gold medals as the male sex athlete that he IS.
A broken clock is......well you know
Jenner says a lot of things........
Or maybe a story of a woman who didn’t even get a bronze, because she beaten by 3 guys. 👎
Can’t look at Bruised Gender on videos or even still photos. Can’t/won’t vote for him in the California gubernatorial recall. Better, normal candidates.
They are making women’s medals second class trophies.

Aside from the obvious stupidity, this statement just seems totally odd and raises all kinds of questions….
- Ok… so we know that the classifications are no longer men and women based on the fact they have allowed the MALE weightlifter from New Zealand to compete in the women’s event. When the podium announcements are made, will they say “And now we are going to present the medals for the ‘over 5 nanomoles per liter classification’….(or ‘under’ as the case may be).
- How was this value of 5 nanomoles per liter established as the threshold? I would assume that this value bounces around quite a bit even by those who are traditionally called males and females. Is this some sort of ‘average’ level taken from past athletes?
- Do nanomoles values not shift around a bit? What if a person is at 4.99 nanomoles per liter when they wake up in the morning but by noon just before they compete, it has moved a bit and is at 5.01 nanomoles per liter…. Does this individual then get moved over to compete in the ‘above 5 nanomoles classification’? How close to the time of the event is this nanomoles test made? Is it made every time that they are just starting an event?
- Do all the athletes get tested before every event? What if a guy was just having a ‘low T’ day that particular day?
- So the statement says that “…female athletes’ testosterone levels were at 5 nanomoles per liter or more were barred from events between distances of 400 meters and a mile.” So do I take this to mean that there is a different nanomole level threshold that has been set for every event… this is just what it happens to be the level for this length of distance race? So does this mean that an individual could be competing in the ‘above ____ nanomole per liter threshold’ for one event and a ‘below _____ nanomole per liter threshold’ for a different event?
Losing testosterone and taking female hormones reduces body mass by about 5%. The hormone switching doesn’t change anatomical structure or function. I read an article on cardiac function and low normal cardiac function in females is pathological in males so doctors were advised to sing male standards when treating men who have transitioned to women.
