"He will be on probation for five years.

A convicted murderer has been allowed to plead guilty to a drug offense in exchange for dismissal of a rape charge filed after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a light rail station at the Mall of America five months ago.

Kendell R. Jones, 40, of Minneapolis admitted Wednesday in Hennepin County District Court to a felony drug count, while prosecutors agreed to drop a third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.

Imagine being a woman who has been raped and having the courage to speak to police and ID your assailant, to then have this happen. It's unconscionable but not surprising in Keith Ellison's Minnesota.

No word if he'll receive his own George Floyd-like statute as part of his plea agreement.

Since all he pleaded to was a drug crime, he won’t actually spend any time in prison, he’ll be right back on the streets.

Yes, already released for ‘time served.’ He raped a woman and didn’t even do 5-months, I believe.

Did the journalist ask the victim what she thought of the prosector’s offer?

Soft judges create hardened criminals.

Shes a Meth head, if the prosecutor didnt offer her meth, she probably didnt have much to say.

This was a completely preventable rape and whos to say she didnt say yes and then cried rape?

Whats the difference between an alcoholic and a meth head?

An alcoholic will steal your wallet and when hes sober he'll feel bad about it.

A meth head will steal your wallet to get high, and then try and help you find it.

I agree completely with that. But, I believe in this particular instance all of the fault lies entirely with the prosecution.

In most jurisdictions, judges do have to essentially approve plea agreements. But, in some instances, their hands are tied by circumstance. For instance, if the state drops a charge, the judge doesn’t have much recourse (unless of course Michael Flynn is the accused). All the judge could approve or deny is the agreement on sentencing. But, when the state drops the rape charge leaving only the outstanding drug charge to be adjudicated, I suspect the sentencing is dictated by state statute...thus tying the judge’s hands.

Judges can wreak havoc on the system by being soft on sentencing. But, it’s still the prosecutors who have the most potential control over the system simply by refusing to prosecute cases, even if those are slam-dunk prosecutions. This is being demonstrated by Soros DA in a number of big cities today. We’re in an entirely new dynamic; soft prosecutors.

The guys a douch bag who should be locked up. The womans iffy because of drug addiction. The defense attorney would have chewed her up and made her look like a total waste of human flesh. Be glad he got what he got. He will not last long before so eone blows him away, maybe Next time the woman will be armed.

Hillary Clinton was a defense attorney who got a child molester off, attacked the victim, and laughed about it.

I pray this turns the woman’s life around and she gets clean and sober, and stops hanging around train stations looking for drugs.

Basically this is a statement that The State views drug crimes as worse than rape. I disagree - and I suspect she also disagrees, whoever she is.

“In 2004, Jones was convicted in Louisiana of murder and rape and served 15 years in prison. The incident involved Jones and an accomplice being hired to kill a man, but “when the intended target was not home, they killed his wife and raped her daughter,” read the criminal complaint in connection with the Mall of America encounter.”

And he was ever let out, why?

He was hired to kill a man in Louisiana.

The target wasn't home so they slaughtered his wife and raped their daughter.

He only did 15 years.

In a sane world....
