They can’t even say what the real problem is. They have within their population, a group of people who care very little about the worth of other people’s lives—people willing and able to kill over just about anything—shoes, color of clothing, color of skin, the look on ones face—anything. But under no circumstances can these people be blamed and shamed for their actions. Even arresting them and locking them up is now considered extreme.

Far easier to blame guns and gun dealers.

Pizzeria Uno and across the street “Due”, both owned by the same people were the highlight of my trips to IBM schools in Chicago. probably 1980 or thereabouts...

However one of the few times I have been concerned for my safety was on a return trip, walking, back to the hotel on Michigan Avenue... Someone fell in behind me and followed my turns... My short legs went into high gear and made the most direct route back to Michigan Avenue.

FWIW, the other place I was really concerned was East Saint Louis... I got lost looking for a restaurant and ended up in the heart of “no place for a white boy to be”. The people were radiating hate toward us. That was the last time I left home to foreign states without protection in the vehicle...

Stop and frisk. Charge and convict felons in possession of a gun and give them 1-10 years depending on their prior record.

The second amendment does not bar freed felons from the right to keep and bear arms. Anyone who can not be trusted to be armed should not be running around loose.

Wow! That sounds like a narrow escape.

I had a similar experience. When I was in my ‘20s, I was going to the University of Chicago. I noticed a bike path along the lake. I knew that there was one further north.

So I bicycled home.

Come to find out that the path stopped just north of Hyde Park. So I had to take to the streets. Right in the middle of the ghetto.

I was cycling by a house with a bunch of black guys sitting on the porch, shower caps on their heads, drinking Colt .45.

“Hey, Snow!” they shouted.

I have never ridden my bicycle faster.
