Tucker Carlson On Loudoun County Arresting Parent Who Spoke Out To Defend Kids: ‘They’re Gonna Get A Revolution’ If ‘They Keep Acting Like This’
Daily Wire ^ | 06/24/2021

On Wednesday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson spoke with Jon Tigges, a parent who was arrested in Loudoun County on Tuesday night after refusing to leave a school board meeting where he spoke out in defense of children.

During the interview, Carlson recapped the latest events from the Loudoun County School Board meetings, where more and more parents have been getting involved in pushing back on the school district’s far-left proposals.

When asked why he was arrested, Tigges said, “As best I understand it, I was in a place that, where free speech has to happen.”

“If you want to redress your grievances about a school board, there’s no other place you can do it than in a school board meeting,” he said. “And in this case, we went on to public land, went into a public auditorium, we were there for a public forum that we were invited to, and I was signed up to give public comment. And at the end of all that, every single person there, all 500 parents, had their First Amendment rights trampled on by the Loudoun County School Board and its superintendent.”

“If they keep acting like this, they’re gonna get a revolution,” Carlson responded. “I mean, this is what happens when you ignore legitimate complaints, is people get radical. And I hope it doesn’t happen. But, you can see how it could. So in this case, these are the people who pay for Loudoun County Schools.”

TRANSCRIPT:

TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS HOST: Public schools in Loudoun County, Virginia, like so many schools in this country have gone insane in the last year, they’ve essentially stopped teaching. Instead, they’re indoctrinating children with creepy and poisonous racial theories, master race stuff. It’s Scary. In Loudoun County, kids are not allowed to read “To Kill A Mockingbird” anymore. Instead, they’re assigned pornographic novels and told that America is an evil, racist place. So parents in Loudoun County have been revolting against this — not just right-wingers, by the way, not just politically active people, people with kids in the schools. Why would you want your kids taught some bizarro poisonous racial theory? It’s disgusting. So last night, the school board met in Loudoun County and agreed to solicit public comments. It didn’t take that many, but those they heard weren’t very positive.

[BEGIN VIDEO]

AUDIENCE: Resign! Resign cowards! … The western culture and values that brought forth Christianity and the founding documents are being called evil and racist. … You’re not the captain, we’re your bosses, and God willing, we will return most of you to the private sector very soon. … I’m reminded [of the] tyranny of communist China, where your money is legally stolen and then used in government schools, not public schools — these are not public schools, these are government schools — like here, to indoctrinate children, against their parents. … My child is not oppressed, and don’t assume that. As long as you Marxists push your unconstitutional agenda on my child, she will not be returning back to Loudoun County schools.

[END VIDEO]

CARLSON: So the school board didn’t want to hear it. There as out of touch as most of our institutions, they just didn’t want to hear it. So they had the meeting declared an unlawful assembly. One parent called Jon Tigges, a man from the community, was arrested. Watch this.

[START VIDEO]

JON TIGGES: You guys are actually supporting the suppression of people’s rights.

POLICE OFFICER: Are you refusing to leave at this time?

TIGGES: Yes, I’m refusing to leave.

POLICE OFFICER: Alright, deputies, please arrest this individual for trespassing.

[END VIDEO]

CARLSON: So they handcuffed him and dragged him away. Didn’t want to hear from him apparently. Jon Tigges joins us now to explain what happened. Jon, thanks so much for coming on. It feels like this is, and Loudon County is the place, and this is the moment where people have just finally just had it with these scary racial theories. Tell us what happened to you. Why did they arrest you?

TIGGES: That’s a good question, Tucker. Because as best I understand it, I was in a place that, where free speech has to happen. If you want to redress your grievances about a school board, there’s no other place you can do it than in a school board meeting. And in this case, we went on to public land, went into a public auditorium, we were there for a public forum that we were invited to, and I was signed up to give public comment. And at the end of all that, every single person there, all 500 parents, had their First Amendment rights trampled on by the Loudoun County School Board and its superintendent.

CARLSON: If they keep acting like this, they’re gonna get a revolution. I mean, this is what happens when you ignore legitimate complaints, is people get radical. And I hope it doesn’t happen. But, you can see how it could. So in this case, these are the people who pay for Loudoun County Schools. The building was reserved and open until 7pm. They arrested you before 7 as I understand.

TIGGES: Yeah, actually, it was closer to about 5:45. And we were supposed to go until 7, until the school board heard something they didn’t like. And which was ironically applause for one of the people that we were supporting, Senator Dick Black. And the net result was they shut it down. But there was not violence. There wasn’t crazy going on. People stayed there, they actually started singing, and then we just encouraged folks that if the school board didn’t want to hear it, we were going to hear from one another. And we allowed a very orderly, peaceful process of allowing people to actually start speaking, and they did that, they lined up and peacefully started presenting their perspectives, and we allowed the other side to do the same. And then suddenly, it was declared an unlawful assembly after the thing that you’re showing right now occurred which, as best I can tell, was a complete leftist diversionary tactic that was pre-planned, because no one that was lined up to speak was involved in any of that. So the net result was they declared an unlawful assembly, and then they moved a whole series of prepositioned deputies and tried to push them out of the room, threatening them all with arrest.

CARLSON: So they didn’t like what you had to say, so they declared your talking illegal, and then they got these stooge cops, who should be ashamed of themselves, to arrest you for the crime of saying something the school board didn’t like? Am I missing anything?

TIGGES: That’s correct. No, you’re not missing anything. And, and that’s what’s so infuriating is there’s such a high standard for free speech. You know, it is the most sacred of all of our rights. And it takes an amazing amount of justification to shut down free speech.

CARLSON: Yeah, it does. And it’s, you know, not liking it is not adequate justification. I hope you keep getting arrested, Jon. I mean that because I think only until people are willing to be arrested for exercising their constitutional rights will those rights be protected. And I appreciate what you did in coming on tonight. Thank you.

The Left would love a violent revolution while they are in control of the federal government.

Their friends in China and Russia would love it as well.

18USC1983 may apply here.

Theoretically the cops who arrested this man could be subject to criminal penalties under 18USC242

There is Nothing in the article or the news that would give them the right to declare an unlawful assemble with over an Hour Left in the Public Meeting. This is where an ADA could make his bones and CHARGE ALL OF THEM WITH FELONY KIDNAPPING!!

Another good Tucker interview. He is doing something no one else in the media is doing. I believe he is a rising star, filling the void of truthful uncomfortable information and opinion that was left wide open when we lost RUSH.

The government thought they had cowed everyone into willing submission through the mask mandate, the arrests for going to church, the loss of jobs and the increased dependency on government. They were wrong. A few individuals resisted the enforced sheepification and spoke out.

The left doesn’t tolerate thoughts or words that do not conform 100% to the approved thoughts and words. The left sends armed enforcers to take away your civil liberty and throw you in with criminals to teach you the lesson that you MUST not ever commit WrongThink!

Notice that the man didn’t commit a crime. Notice how the officials flipped the man’s legal actions into a “crime.” Then the armed enforcement hand of the government took him into custody. No crime. They declare it a crime. The man is arrested.

You vill think the right vay! You vill conform! You vill not think for yourself! Achtung! Sweet Land of Liberty is no more! It is the New Reich!

I think you’re absolutely right.

Wonder what Rush would have said after Biden’s rambling speech last night.

The indoctrination centers we call schools do not want any interference in their indoctrination of the youth.

I lived in that area for a couple of years. Being a native Texan...I HATED it! The whole damn area from Maryland to D.C. to Virginia felt like a police state. I’m not exaggerating.

Many folks take for granted the freedoms we enjoy in the great state of Texas.

Taxation was ridiculous, cost of living very high. Police given the power to just setup road blocks whenever and where ever they pleased. Queuing motorist up in lines to check your papers before you could proceed to your destination.

I moved the hell outta there. When approaching the Texas border, I pulled over at the welcome center, got out of my car, knelt down and kissed the ground.

I just can’t believe Americans could knowingly vote for state, county and municipal office holders that are so power hungry leftist. When I lived there, it was still a purple state...can’t imagine living there now it’s a blue state.

That’s the problem with the left, they push and push until you back down, but sometimes the push back is more then they expected.

We have to take the fight to them now, or we are done,

I agree with you.

Actually the Revolution already happened. It began with the stealing of an election. It ended with the installation of Joe ,the Thief, Biden and Kamala ,Willie's whore, Harris as president and vice president. That was s successful Revolution. Planned and executed.

The Republican Party's reaction? They collaborated with the Democrat Party to ensure that the Revolution was successful.

The reaction of the Conservatives, the "We got guns crowd, along with the other sheep? They pretended that nothing out of the Ordinary happened on January 20, 2021 as the Imposter and Cheat along with Willie's whore were ensconced as president and vice president. And to the surprise of none. the Republicans and sheep are still pretending nothing out of the ordinary happened on November 3,2020 or January 20, 2021. Their Battle Cry is "Wait until 2022 and 2024 We will Take The White House back." They are in for a rude awakening.

I’m going to be a contrarian here. I want to know the details of what went down.

Public comment at school board and city council meetings is typically limited to a certain time period before the meeting, and a certain time per person. Around here, it’s up to 30 minutes before the meeting, and 3 minutes per person. There’s then another public comment session after the meeting.

If you want to talk longer, coordinate with multiple people to give comments and deliver that message. Or call a press conference, put up a YouTube video, etc.

If he exhausted his public comment time and refused to leave the microphone, that will get you arrested. I don’t know if that’s what went down, but that’s what I suspect. It how the system works. The board has to get its business done. If you don’t like what they’re doing, the real answer is to elect a new board. Let them hear how they’re screwing up in public comment and online, but REALLY let them hear in the election.

The problem is that too many aren’t paying attention or getting involved because they’re too busy watching sportyball or American Idol.

If you actually study the history of the U.S., civic rights have been disappearing since the founding of the Republic. First they ended the rights of the common law jury, which was quite different from what is called a jury trial today. Read the account of John Peter Zenger's libel trial when his attorney, Andrew Hamilton, turned to the jury after the judge refused to accept the evidence that what he published was truthful and said,
"I thank Your Honor. Then, Gentlemen of the Jury, it is to you that we must now appeal for witnesses to the truth of the facts we have offered, and are denied the liberty to prove. Let it not seem strange that I apply myself to you in this manner. I am warranted by both law and reason. "The law supposes you to be summoned out of the neighborhood where the fact is alleged to be committed; and the reason of your being taken out of the neighborhood is because you are supposed to have the best knowledge of the fact that is to be tried. Were you to find a verdict against my client, you must take it upon you to say that the papers referred to in the information, and which we acknowledge we printed and published, are false, scandalous, and seditious. "But of this I can have no apprehension. You are citizens of New York. You are really what the law supposes you to be, honest and lawful men; and according to my brief, the facts which we offer to prove were not committed in a corner. They are notoriously known to be true. Therefore in your justice lies our safety. And as we are denied the liberty of giving evidence to prove the truth of what we have published, I will beg leave to lay it down as a standing rule in such cases that the suppressing of evidence ought always to be taken for the strongest evidence; and I hope it will have that weight with you."
This is how the "American rule" that the truth is an absolute defense in a defamation action became law. It came from the jury ignoring the "law" proclaimed by the judge. That practice is now quite dead. An attorney would lose his license, be found in contempt of court, or both, if he/she were to do this today, as well as having the judge declare a mistrial in all likelihood.

The right to a common law jury trial was the first right to be extinguished. In recent years, we have seen the end of free speech due to political correctness, especially on university campuses where it should be well defended. It is perhaps of little surprise to see that on the early hours of Nov. 4th, 2020 the elites attacked free and fair election, while our courts declared that voters had no right to witness the vote counts or demand full audits of the same. Sure, we ended slavery, and liberated women to have more nominal "rights", but these "rights" have become empty.

Or maybe the demand to shelter in place, hoard food, avoid family and friends, wear a mask all the time was the inputs to create the war they want. Maybe they hoped people would revolt to trigger the end result.

The interview gave me the impression that WHAT YOU DESCRIBED WAS WHAT WAS HAPPENNG UNTIL the school board started to hear things they did not like. It was not the time limit, it was the CONTENT of the speech.

That was my read from the Transcript ( See post # 1 above ).

“they’re gonna get a revolution”

I must wonder if a revolution started, would President Biden use his F15s and nuclear bombs to put down the revolution.

That is what Dictators do, he did indicate that the other day.
