The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has been listed as one of the candidates for the 2021 Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of CAS for its achievement in identifying the COVID-19 pathogeny.

China's "bat woman" Shi Zhengli, and Yuan Zhiming, director of the WIV's Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory were selected as the outstanding contributors of the WIV group candidates.

I remember when awards used to mean something. Although, in a twisted sense awarding the lab in Wuhan for "mission accomplished" is in order.

Indeed. As we know, even formerly respected awards such as Nobels have been b*stardized to Obama levels. (Literature, Peace prizes for a start.) I await a Nobel Prize in Physics for some climate change pushing first grade level “scientist”. That’ll signal the complete irrelevancy of that name.

In a sane world you would think the ignominy of the last year would preclude even being considered for a nomination. But we are talking about the CCP.
