Some of the specific goals included in the playbook are as follows:
- Each film or series with a creative team of three or more people in above-the-line roles (Directors, Writers, Producers) should ideally include a minimum 30% women and 30% members of an underrepresented racial/ethnic group. This will increase to 50% by 2024.
- Casting actors whose identity (gender, gender identity, nationality, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability) aligns with the character they will be playing.
- Aiming to include one character from each of the following categories in speaking roles, with minimum 50% of these to be women: LGBTQIA+, person with a disability, and three regionally underrepresented race/ethnic/cultural groups. A single character can fulfill one or more of these identities.
- Seeking at least three bids from vendors or suppliers on productions, one of which must be from a woman-owned business and one from a minority-owned business.
- Pay equity across casting, behind the camera staff and crew, and for vendors and suppliers.

They’re going to use racial/sexual discrimination to get rid of racial/sexual discrimination.
Good plan. :)

Are they eliminating all white male directors, writers, and producers by 2024?

Amazon shows will go down the tubes, now.
Can’t wait until the force Billy Bob Thornton off his show for being too white.
They already make the Jack Ryan-type movie with a black dude. Will he take over for the guy from The Office as Jack Ryan in the series?

It’s hard to find ONE show or ONE movie made since 2010 that is not some forced diversity/gay/feminist agenda even if it doesn’t make sense to the plot. They’ve been pushing it for decades in entertainment but the last ten years there isn’t ONE show or movie that doesn’t do this.

Amazon Studios is working on a Lord Of The Rings prequel series. 😬

Without Remorse was an excellent book. The movie was only a little more similar to the book as The Running Man book/movie was - which is to say, little more than the title and a few character names.

I started pre-searching for info and stopped watching movies with obviously stuffed casts years ago.

Casting actors whose identity (gender, gender identity, nationality, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability) aligns with the character they will be playing. I guess Amazon won’t be filming a version of Hamilton using an all black cast.

Go Woke, Go Broke. Garbage films, but at least the staff had the proper diversity.

I don't care what they do as long as the product is made with quality. I have problems with the tv show on Netflix, Bridgerton, where it is set in an alternate history with a racially integrated London.
That does not do it for me because I know what England was like historically. I am willing to engage in suspension of disbelief so I can enjoy a show but I can't do it with Bridgerton, so I had to watch something else after a couple minutes. Maybe the "woke" crowd have no problems and it is easy for them to visualize what the world should be like. But not me, nope.

Blacks are 13-14% of the population. If anything they are over represented in the media, not under represented. Queers are less than that and they have their own Network.
To: JennysCool
I’ve only watched two of their shows.
Bailed on the first after mid second season.
And they cancelled the second after its second season or I’d still be watching that one.
Nothing else they’ve produced even tempts me.
Note to Amazon: If you, by some miracle, ever want to make product for the red bits and you need some advice, let me know. I’d be happy to go through your slush piles.

But they, as a demographic, watch a lot more TV.
Which explains a lot of things, actually.

Amazon makes enough money via their web sales platform, they literally DO NOT CARE if people care to watch their entertainment.
