This jumble of words took up an entire page in the Sunday New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle and other major newspapers.
It’s a farce in three acts. First, someone wrote it. Second, someone thought it was good. Third, someone paid for numerous full page ads that run $50,000 to $200,000 or more a pop.

Visit Portland? Think I would rather go to Mogadishu
To: artichokegrower
Mogadishu might be safer.

Portland can beg but I won’t hear.
When someone says to me, “let’s not go there,” I think of Portland. Once a bit odd but now queer and dangerous.
The West/Left coast is no longer a destination.

None of that—not a single word—makes me want to visit or even piques my curiosity. It tells me nothing.

I’ve been to Portland.
Filled with bums, druggies, homeless and loads of drug treatment centers.
It has some beautiful views though.
Course there are certain times and area’s any sane person would avoid.

Pure propaganda.
Probably the City Council popped for the ads, which probably went for over a quarter million dollars.
The Left has always been big on image, poor on reality.

The poem is actually pretty good. Here are a few lines:
Portland city is a beautiful sight.
with riots both day and night.
If you get attacked, don’t call 911 on your phone,
because trust us pal, you’re on your own.
(j/k, of course)

In 2017 my wife and I spent a night in downtown Portland on our way back from Alaska. It (downtown Portland, not Alaska) was filthy and disgusting then, we vowed never to go back.

Conclude every paragraph in that “poem” with “except if you’re conservative,” and it’ll be spot on.

This reminds me of the old quote about California:
