Portland begs people to visit in most nauseating poem ever
PressCalifornia ^ | June 21, 2021 | Staff Report

This jumble of words took up an entire page in the Sunday New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle and other major newspapers.

It’s a farce in three acts. First, someone wrote it. Second, someone thought it was good. Third, someone paid for numerous full page ads that run $50,000 to $200,000 or more a pop.

I can make that “poem” more succinct “ It's all about us, screw U, send money before we go down the S-—hole we created.”

“Vogon poetry is of course, the third worst in the universe.

The second worst is that of the Azgoths of Kria. During a recitation by their poet master Grunthos the Flatulent of his poem “Ode to a Small Lump of Green Putty I Found in My Armpit One Midsummer Morning” four of his audience died of internal haemorrhaging and the president of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council survived by gnawing one of his own legs off. Grunthos was reported to have been “disappointed” by the poem’s reception, and was about to embark on a reading of his 12-book epic entitled “My Favourite Bathtime Gurgles” when his own major intestine, in a desperate attempt to save humanity, leapt straight up through his neck and throttled his brain.

The very worst poetry of all perished along with its creator, Paul Neil Milne Johnstone of Redbridge, in the destruction of the planet Earth. Vogon poetry is mild by comparison.”

― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The Democrat City Hall led rioting and arson on cue from their Globalist handlers in order to remove President Trump and force Americans to bail out Leftist states and cities.

Portland Oregon was sacrificed because it's already dead. The port was abandoned half a decade ago since the 100 miles of river to the coast are too shallow and narrow for the current generation of trans-oceanic container ships.

These Leftist bastions now face the reality that they soiled their own nests and their own Leftist counterparts won't bail them out. Maybe they can sign up the same company that offers the "Ruins of Detroit" tours for the "Putrid Portland" tours.

They can offer such packages as:
"Decay in a Day"
"Antifa and You"
"You can Topple a Statue"
"Meth is the Betht"

No need to travel great distances to experience anarchy, unchecked violence, burning and chaos. You can see it right here at home. LOL

If that’s a poem then Milli Vanilli was the world’s greatest heavy metal band.

My son had a job interview in Portland a couple of years ago. After seeing the city there was no amount of money that could have persuaded him to take the job.

Agree. Trips to the west coast will not happen for me and my family. They can enjoy the problems there without me.

My wife and I had season passes to the zoo. The sales tax free shopping at Portland’s fabulous malls and downtown retailers used to be terrific. They also had free trams to take you all around downtown and over to the big mall with the ice skating arena where Tonya Harding first developed into a premier ice skater.

My wife was invited to do a presentation at one of the 8th Airforce Association quarterly meetings almost every year. In 2013 she set up a big display at the Military Vehicle Preservation Association convention in Portland. And I met R. Lee Ermy there with my geriatric wiener dog. It turned out that R. Lee had lost his own wiener dog a few months before and you never saw a more touching display of a man with a reputation for toughness loving on a dog.

My wife was dressed in a WWII Nurse Uniform and looked beautiful... she and here friends went down to get some pictures with R. Lee and he didn’t have much interest in the group until my wife said something about him appreciating her wiener dog. Then he lit up.

We also took groups of senior citizens to Portland on a few occasions and we always had a great time. Sadly we would not do that again any time soon and will be hesitant to even do more shows there when this idiotic lock down is over.

Sorry it was the 2008 MVPA convention in Portland where we met R. Lee Ermy. She received an invitation to go to Hawaii at that show. 2013 was also a good time. By that time the Wiener dog that R. Lee Ermy had loves on was gone. I brought a kayak along and the dog and I paddled across the mighty Columbia together on a couple of different days while my wife was at the show. It was very breezy as is common on the river and more challenging than one might imagine. The dog did not like it much. But they had a great park that I started out from just a few miles from the Convention.

Sorry that was our younger dog that went kayaking with me in 2013. Bad writing on my part. But we have had a lot of good times in Portland over the years and it is sad what has happened there.

For those who haven't read it:

Putrid. But this is typical for them.

For me, it brings to mind one of The Communist Goals (From the book "The Naked Communist" written in 1958 by Dr. Cleon Skousen and read into the Congressional Record in 1963). Communist Goal Number 22 seemed very appropriate: Goal #22: Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”

A few years back, a conservative friend and I went to Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, a city right up there with Berkeley, Ithaca, and Madison with regards to its leftism.

They had a place outside an Au Bon Pain that was frequented by chess players, and that night, there was a “Poetry Slam” going on, so we stopped and watched for a few minutes.

There was a girl, dressed all in black, faintly resembling Ally Sheedy in the movie “The Breakfast Club” reciting a “poem”:

(Spoken in beatnik tones) “...and then he grabbed me and threw me down. And he F***** me. And then again. And...”

We looked at each other with this shared expression of “Can you believe these effing lunatics?” and then, looking at the people sitting next to us watching intently, a guy, stroking his chin and listening as if it were the most profound thing he had ever heard.

It seems to be a thing with these people: The uglier, stupider, and further from the mainstream it is the more highly they value it. To them, it is "Art".
