Despite having their weapons seized and pleading guilty to charges in connection with pointing guns at Black Lives Matter rioters on their private property during the summer of 2020, Mark and Patricia McCloskey appeared defiant Saturday, posting a picture of a new AR-15 the St. Louis couple intends to buy.
"Checking out my new AR!" Mark McCloskey tweeted along with two pictures: one with McCloskey at a gun store with the owner, and another with him and his wife, Patricia. In both, he is holding an AR-15 rifle.
The picture came just two days after the McCloskeys pleaded guilty to lesser charges and agreed to pay fines in connection with last summer’s incident involving Black Lives Matter rioters who tore down an iron gate and ignored a "No Trespassing" sign on their private street. The couple said they felt threatened and armed themselves before heading outside to warn off the crowd.

Both McCloskeys look like they’ve lost weight since this fracas started a year ago. Stress does that to you. But I’m glad he got his new AR.
They used their full rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution to protect their lives and property, and they, not the violent rioters, were treated as the criminals.
The government turned the McCloskeys into super patriots.
I hope they become strong and effective fighters in this war to protect and preserve our rights under our COTUS.
“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
I hope to see the day soon when most white women see the good light, get pissed and get busy.
“But I’m glad he got his new AR.”
Will he and his wife learn how to hold and handle a firearm without looking like buffoons?”
That would be a good start.
See my tag line and buy more, regardless of the price.
I don’t own an AR or an AK. Or any other type of semi-auto rifle.
But have recently thought about building and A-10 version.
There are some really good choices for that framework. Best 2? The 6.5 Creedmoor or the old reliable .308 (7.62X51).
I have very good bolt action rifles and reload for them. Not sure a semi-auto is really that important to me.
If I could find a wooden stock for an A-10 rifle, I think I might actually get one.
There is the option of the M1A1 .308 that Springfield makes. A beautiful rifle. Heavy but certainly a battle weapon.
One thing I have noted, the clips for the A-10 and the M1A1 are both pretty big. Low profile was one of the advantages of the M1 Garand, the was a top load clip. If you wanted to hug the ground, that was an advantage.
A word of advice: stay with an AR-15 frame but instead of going 5.56/.223, upgrade the cartridge to 6.5mm Grendel. It’s the largest and most poweful round that will fit in that size frame. Anything bigger and you’ll have to go to the AR-10 frame which typically runs 30% larger and heavier. Only difference is the barrel chamber, magazines and the bolt, everything else is the same.
Check out the ballistics on the 6.5 Grendel and you’ll understand why I’m busy converting all my AR’s to it. About the only available round faster than it is the 6mm ARC but it doesn’t have quite as much knock down and is being touted more as a target or competition round.
In the past I’ve purchased 1 AR-10 and built 2 more. Am now contemplating selling all 3 to fund the conversions and to help with reloading-provided primers ever become available-and at reasonable prices again...
I hope they get some good training.
That said, the OP nailed it. This is the Leftist Soros DA engaging in lawfare against someone defending themselves.from Leftist street gang violent activist thuggery. They shouldn’t have had to plead guilty to even a misdemeanor, as they did. The governor should step in and pardon even that to repudiate the DA.
While I like that you are going big. The .50 Beowulf is actually the largest that will fit that frame. Yes you only get 7 shots, but it is the biggest.

Happy hunting!
They caved and the judge was an ass. They turned in the guns “not” used against the aggressors but could have been if needed in a plea deal.
Buying new ones is just gamesmanship to look tough.
They did nothing wrong but took a plea deal..
They make wood stocks for AR’s. Just do a web search, they will pop up.
CC
So does a run for the Senate.

Leaner and meaner. Or as Glenn Reynolds says, “punch back twice as hard”.
Those photos are proof that he’s a lefty.
McCloskeys came out to deter a mob who had already broken down the gate to their property and were trespassing ..
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to pardoning the McCloskeys:
Check out the 6.8 SPC. In a 16" barrel it's much better all around at normal ranges than the 6.5.
May I voice a contrarian POV?
There's another thread up this morning from the inimitable Kurt Schlichter, warning, not advising or cautioning or imploring, but warning anyone who can read to beware of provocateurs, which would implicitly include poseurs and buffoons.
After all, in order to be effective in his craft a provocateur has got to be believable at some point, hasn't he?
Brandishing an AR and a pistol in a way that speaks unfamiliarity with firearms, while wearing white golf pants and a polo shirt... go ahead if you must, but don't be offended if I just sit out on my front porch in the same situation with something near at hand and/or in a holster... let the guys who just crashed the gate figure it out for themselves. Spare everyone the theatrics unless there's an ulterior motive.
Donning flame suit... :)
