The IRS has gotten even more out of control than it was under Obama

Eight years ago, it emerged that, during Obama’s reelection campaign, the IRS refused to grant tax-exempt status to Tea Party groups. Since then, the IRS has been relatively dormant. However, it’s now back at its old tricks. The Epoch Times reports that, when the IRS received an application for tax-exempt status from a Texas group that encourages its members to pray for all state and national leaders, an official denied the application on partisan political grounds.

Here are the facts from the Epoch Times:

An IRS official denied tax-exempt status to a Texas group that encourages church members to pray for state and national leaders, regardless of their party affiliation, because it benefits “the private interests of the [Republican] Party.”
“You do not qualify as an organization described in IRS Section 501(c)(3). You engage in prohibited political campaign intervention,” wrote Stephen A. Martin, director of the IRS Office of Exempt Organizations Rulings and Agreements, in a May 18 letter (pdf) to Christians Engaged, the Garland, Texas-based prayer group recognized by Texas officials as tax-exempt.
“You are also not operated exclusively for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3), because you operate for a substantial non-exempt private purpose and for the private interests of the D party.”

While a reference to the “D party” makes it appear that the group supported Democrats, in fact, Martin’s letter explained that “D” stands for the Republican party. Go figure.

Martin also took a deep dive into doctrinal issues to make his point:

The Federal Gov’t is in Full Bore WE RUN THIS COUNTRY MODE. ANY CITIZEN or CITIZEN GROUP that believes otherwise is a TARGET of the FEDS.
This is totally OUR FAULT. The Founders Warned Us. The Government gave us ONLY WORKS for MORAL PEOPLES.
Does “a Republic IF you can keep it” Ring a Bell? Hmm? Well, why Patriots were asleep at the wheel the enemies of our Constitutional Republic were hard at work. 24/7/365. While WE just wished to be left alone to live our lives and raise our families and couldn’t be bothered to get involved in POLITICS our enemies realized this fact and took full advantage. They plotted to infiltrate every aspect of our society to undermine our Constitutional, Judeo/ Christian values and system of government. All the while watching us sleeping while they did so.
Our School system, Our Churches, Our Entertainment Industry, Our Corporations, Our Government, etc...all while WE were asleep at the wheel. Our mantra of, Just Leave Me Alone to Live My Life is a WEAKNESS THEY EXPLOITED TO MAXIMUM EFFECT.
And, still to this day, 90% of Patriotic Americans still have the Just Leave Me Alone attitude. This is why the Left has been so very successful.

Hopefully there is a PDF version of a report I wrote on “abuse of tax exempt status” by leftist tax-exempt organizations as launderers for communist money going to our enemies in No. Vietnam, Cuba, El Salvador (NEST, MADRE, CISPES) and Nicaragua (Nicaragua National Network), etc. (Written for the Council on Inter-American Security (CIS) we didn’t know of the hearing until it was too late to testify in person so they told us to submit the report in lieu of live testimony).

I don’t have my copy of the hearing near me but it was included as a report in the final publication of the hearings/exhibits in the House Ways & Means Committee hearings in 1977 as I recall.

The report deals with violations of the Logan Act (I think I only mentioned it), the 1946 (Lobbying Act of), and communist/Marxist fronts abuse and violation of the IRS codes, etc.

It is possibly one of the few/only such reports on how the communists in America used the 501/(c)(3) and (4) sections of the IRS Tax Exempt Organizations rules to launder millions of dollars to communist fronts aiding our enemies in the countries I mentioned above.

This is happening today re Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, possibly El Salvador, Red China, etc.
