Short term results were positive, so they thought it worked.....Hwever, after following patients long-term, they realized those results were temporary and that sex reassignment surgery was not an appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, the procedure was by then ‘out there’ and many other doctors now willing to perform it, so it continues.
