The Utter Uselessness of Climate Change 'Science'

As I have learned the hard way, the science behind climate change has no more predictive real-world value than the science behind COVID. When put to the test, scientists cannot tell you what will happen next year, let alone next century, but that does not stop them from pretending they can.

Three years ago, my new neighbor here on Lake Erie asked if I wanted to go in with him on a seawall. Having spent thirty summers on the Rust Belt Riviera, I politely declined. As I explained, on only one occasion during those years had waves lapped against even the base of my heavily vegetated ten-foot bank. Besides, walls cost a lot of money.

Although I have never trusted it, the science of climate change was on my side. In 2002, National Geographic published a scary, much cited article titled "Down the Drain: The Incredible Shrinking Great Lakes." Someone seems to have pulled the plug on this article, as I learned about it only from reading a 2012 National Geographic article by Lisa Borre that identified the culprit for this shrinkage as climate change, "Warming Lakes: Climate Change and Variability Drive Low Water Levels on the Great Lakes."

According to Ms. Barre, "Down the Drain" documented "declining lake levels and the potential economic and ecological consequences for the region." Ten years later, Barre tells us, "[t]he story continues to unfold, as water levels remain lower than normal." Barre's article features several alarming images of stranded boats and sandy stretches where water once flowed. On a dozen occasions in the article, Barre cites "climate change" as the likely explanation for the shrinking lakes.

For around 30 years now, “scientists” in this area didn’t get grants unless they towed the global warming / climate change party line. Science is a way of viewing the world in a way that provides useful predictions in how the world works. What we have with the above is politics, not science.

Eisenhower warned about science corrupted by government in his farewell speech, the same speech in which he warned of the military-industrial complex.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

Eisenhower was a very smart man.

I've equated the "covid pandemic" as just another version of the global warming movement.

Both may have real aspects to them but they are mainly scams. The arrogance of the leaders who think we can change the outcomes through bullshit doesn't change.

Both schemes have nothing really to do with the warming of the planet or stopping the corona virus but everything to do with the Left's wet dreams of a changing the economic system.

As David Horowitz has so famously claimed, the issue with the Left is never the issue. The issue is always the socialist revolution.

Step back and look at the two movements from afar. They are both being used to control and manipulate the population into accepting a narrative that is just not true.

This is right out of the democRATic playbook of never letting a "crisis" go to waste. They don't know how to improve the country through new programs or policies. They only know how to remake the problems they have created themselves into their own vision of life. Globalism. One World Order. Socialism. Communism.

Outcomes that have never, ever worked in the history of the world. But they will make them work now as the elites who see an easy way to gain power and satisfy their greed.

Expect the covid thing to last for decades just like global warming. And just like they have had to change the name to climate change or climate crisis or climate emergency as people catch on to their scam, they will evolve the name covid pandemic into some new and latest iteration of this last 18 months because the public has already started to catch onto their scam with the virus.

Even a LOT earlier than 30 years ago...

It's hard not to get caught up in the long weeds arguing climate change with its advocates. So I don't anymore. It turns into an endless circular argument of questionable facts and as you say, settled science.

As Al Gore, the Fauci of the global warming movement, used to say, "the debate is over". Problems is, I don't ever remember the "debate" ever taking place. Gore skipped over that part and went straight to settled science and the debate on the facts is already over. That way you couldn't argue the facts any longer. How convenient.

And now along comes a flu virus that the Left latched onto and decided to use to test their socialism skills and it worked wonders for those who submitted to the tyranny of the blue state governors. Wearing masks that were useless for the task at hand, not allowed to be closer than 6 feet from family and friends and forever locked down in their homes, shamed into staying indoors to save everybody else.

Large swaths of the economy ruined by shuttering businesses which also conveniently destroyed the livelihoods of the former employees. All of this with the added benefit of blaming Trump and stealing the 2020 election from him through fraud, claiming people couldn't safely stand in lines at the polling stations so they had to use mail-in ballots, the easiest method to commit large scale election fraud there is.

Now the pandemic is being extended even more with the vaccine disaster, and soon booster shots and then wash, rinse and recycle ad infinitum when a new variant of the virus shows up. It will change names over time but the Left will not let it go, just like climate change.

I've read reports recently that a majority of democRATS would feel more comfortable wearing masks into the future. So the scam has taken hold and public is already onto it.

All that's need now is for Fauci to write a book titled "The Inconvenient Pandemic".
