Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, whose city is suffering from homelessness, economic disruption, and drought, launched a nationwide commission on slavery reparations on Friday, Mayors Organized for Reparations and Equity (MORE).
Garcetti appeared with several urban mayors via streaming video as the federal government observed Juneteenth for the first time as a public holiday (since June 19 is on Saturday this year).

Somehow, I cannot see Democrat hispanics who make up a majority of these cities cottoning to the idea of turning their money over to the black population so Dem politicians can pander for votes. Sorry, as much as the identity politics politicians want it to be so, there is no affinity between hispanics and blacks. Their interests and what they want from the gubmint are different and sometimes in conflict

Correction. Government sponsored lockdowns, prohibitions against earning a living, and excessive overreach of pandemic response.

Correction. Government refusal to build water storage facilities or desalination plants despite decades of population growth.
Even the most obtuse can see the root cause of California's destruction.
Perhaps the Commission could start by identifying all the areas in Africa and any other country where people were sold into slavery. Those countries should then pay reparations for what their ancestors did. If they do not then the US could end diplomatic relations with them and cut off all economic aid.
