It was 50 years ago that Tricia Nixon, daughter of President Richard Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon, was married to Edward F. Cox in the White House Rose Garden with the nation enjoying the celebration through numerous television specials.
On their anniversary Saturday, the couple, along with their son, Christopher Nixon Cox, attended an outdoor rose garden party at the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum in Yorba Linda with frontline workers, first responders and teachers as their guests.
The couple posed for photographs in the library’s popular rose garden, standing in the same gazebo in which they were married on June 12, 1971. The white gazebo, covered in flowers, is on loan to the Nixon Library from the White House.

The docents were also invited to the garden party afterwards which featured fancy hors d'oeuvres catered by the White House, an upscale Italian restaurant in Anaheim.
That is amazing!
He put the final nail in the coffin of the NYS GOP party.
Being married for 50 years say something, especially in these crazy times we’re living in.
How exciting it must be to have been there!
Very cool, good for you!
I would like to see both the Nixon and Reagan museums. Looking at Google Maps, I notice Reagan’s is about a 90 minute drive in the Simi Valley area. Is it a doable thing to take in both Presidents if you are in the Los Angeles area?
I have done both, and live in OC. Do not plan it on the same day. Make your lodging equdistant, if possible. At 3:00am they MAY be 90 minutes apart by car, otherwise . . .
Best of luck !
I thought so. When I was in Virginia about a couple of years earlier, I did Montpelier (James Madison) one afternoon and the following day did Monticello (Jefferson) in the morning and Highland (Monroe) most of the afternoon.
I also noticed that Knott’s Berry Farm is not too far from Yorba Linda. Is that a worthwhile alternative to Disneyland as per my little boycott of things Disney these days? Maybe kind of silly for me to ask, but was curious still.
Knott’s is very do-able, but again, on a separate day, as it is an all day affair, on it’s own. Very close.
I worked at the Anaheim Theme Park for a decade, the corporation you reference is certainly worthy of boycott. Knott’s is not as exciting, but not as costly, and less annoyance factors, to boot. You should have an enjoyable day.
Have fun ! (Tip: the week after Labor Day is usually the best time to be a tourist in SoCal).
I remember that. I remember when the Johnson girls, Lucy and Linda got married too.
Very cool!!
Congratulations to Tricia and Ed on their Golden Wedding Anniversary!
The Nixons were my favorite First Family of all times!
Lucky you!
bttt
Nice!
