Thanks for the link in your #3. I haven’t knowingly clicked a Houston Comical link in years, nor bought one their dog mess wrappers in a couple of decades.
Its not a “pistol”, its a revolver or a handgun. < /nitpicker >

God Bless Texas!
Don't forget, Constitutional Carry will not become law until September 1st (not you TexasGurl24 - I'm certain you're aware).
“ No longer required. You can still get one if you want it for reciprocity purposes.”
It also allows you to purchase and take home a firearm. No waiting for background check.
When I was a kid in the Southwest, nobody thought you needed a license to carry gun(s) in public. Or needed a law that said you could.
About time! As a grammar/middle/high school student in 1950s & 60s CALIFORNIA, I legally carried, both pistols & long guns, UNSUPERVISED.
Legally purchased my first handgun when I was 12.
How far the entire nation has fallen!
Texas already had permitless open carry. This provides for permitless concealed carry.
It also allows you to carry some places CC will not (school parking lots and more).
Don’t forget troll number 3: Dan Patrick was conspiring to stop the bill
Iowa recently passed similar, if not identical legislation and signed by the governor.
It isn’t stated, but open carry would almost by necessity have to be included in our (as of July 1st) or any “permitless” state. Unless they are going to allow concealed carry only? Some states have “printing” laws or penalties for a weapon that becomes inadvertantly exposed.
I think generally speaking “open carry” doesn’t make much sense, most of the time, but I definitely like to know where the boundaries are.
What I can’t figure out is why the NICS check can’t be done ahead of time, over the phone/text/email/smoke signals. It’s my understanding I have to wait (in person) to get a yay/nay.
Does posession of a valid CCW permit negate running a NICS at the time of purchase, that’s what you’re saying, right?
Yes. I think they are a subset of Troll Category 1, but yes, you are right. I saw a lot of that nonsense.
Not from around here, are you? After “Ma” Richardson the ‘rats won’t see the governors mansion for years to come.
“After “Ma” Richardson the ‘rats won’t see the governors mansion for years to come.”
It bears repeating/posting again-and may those years become a century or so-democrats had a stranglehold on Texas until I was an adult-I was delighted to see them go-I was happy when Clements became the 1st Repub governor in 100 years-and gleeful when gun-grabber Ma Richardson got smacked down...
I consider revolvers a subset of pistols. A revolver is always a pistol but a pistol isn’t always a revolver.
